True Intimacy
Everyone just wants someone to hear their heart and know who they really are…. to know that there is some good in them. This is what our God was looking for all along when He created us.
This is what husbands and wives are longing for in truth. We see husbands and wives run to other lovers at times because they are looking for someone to hear their heart and to love them no matter what. Sometimes we wonder why they left with that other woman or man and well, “they aren’t half as good looking or as rich as I am..”
We don’t understand sometimes when they run off with another person and you look and think. What did they see in them, when, many times, it is just the fact that they felt that they could pour their heart out to them, that they could be him or herself with them and still be loved?
Oh yes, I realize that some have other issues but in truth, this is the basic need in all of us. To be loved and listened to. Friends need to be like this with their friends also, if it is a true friendship. To know that someone is just genuinely interested and desires our presence.
We were created in the image and likeness of our Papa God. We were created for intimacy. He made someone in His own image that needed this kind of fellowship too. If you have no one in your life right now that you can pour your heart out to,who will listen to you even when it isn’t all good. Your Papa God longs to be intimate with you like that.
He wants you to pour your heart out to him. He loves you no matter what is going on in your life and longs for you to talk to Him about it. He loves that kind of fellowship. He wants to be your one and only. Good times, bad times, and in-between. Then He wants us to be that same kind of place of refuge for others to share their heart with, without fear of repercussions. This is true relationship. This is true intimacy. Coming into the presence of another without fear of rejection or wrath. Knowing they truly Love you and are going to hear your heart. This is who we should be with one another. This is who our God is. Run to Him!
Ephesians 5:1-2 (AMP) “Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us,a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.”
