Transformed or Conformed?
Transformed or conformed? Problem of modern-day ministry….
The state of ministry today is to me of great concern and I have been praying, asking the LORD how it got to this point.
As I prayed and searched the word for answers, I heard the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit say….
“I beseech you brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is your reasonable act of worship.
Do not be conformed to this world but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God,” Romans 12:2-3.
The word’s conformed and transformed struck me deep!
To conform is to simply be similar, be in line and adapt without necessary inward change…..
Transformation deals more with inward changes.
This seems to be the problem why we have so many miscreants in the ministry.
They were born in the church, grew in her, joined departments, learnt the language and slogans we use, dress according to our accepted pattern, sing in choir and the church leadership singles them out for further ministerial and theological training.
After that, ordain them into the pastoral ministry….. Note, that they had no personal experience with Jesus!
On the other hand, there are only but a few who have had a personal experience with jesus, they were first disciples of Jesus following His Word on a daily basis, being worked on by the Holy Spirit, renewing their minds daily with and in the word and the end result of such is they become transformed into Him…..
“As we behold the word, we are being transformed from one degree of glory to another as by the spirit of the LORD!”
While one is been trained by men, the latter is being transformed and prepared by the Holy Spirit and as he does, he develops the fruit (character) of Jesus in them…..
So you see, this is the crux of the matter we are facing today in ministry…..
We have more of the conformed in position than the transformed!
God help your Church…..
I rest my case……

I wholeheartedly agree. I have been thinking over this same subject just this week. Question is; what to do ehen you recognize you’re caught up in a similar situation with your church?
Develop your personal relationship with him. Seek him personally, he’ll come to you. Amen.
