Tongue Check: Watch what you Say!
The tongue is a little member and full of deadly poison! It can cause all kinds of trouble and destruction. It has caused murders, divorces, broken relationships, mistaken identities, mistrust, and all kinds of damage!
We have to watch how we speak and what we speak because words that are spoken can’t be retrieved. People of God especially, should be wise and watch what they say! We shouldn’t engage in gossip and ungodly conversations; and if someone else tries to engage us in conversations that are harmful and negative, we should pull ourselves away from them and the conversation.
It wouldn’t hurt to encourage them into speaking positive things. We have to be a kind of role model and set a standard and let others know that I am not your garbage can and if you don’t have anything positive to bring to me, then I am not available to you.
Don’t allow others to bring you negative reports and fill you with negative ideas and misconceptions about someone else.
Also, don’t be so quick to think that you have to speak your mind. It could cause someone to be hurt or discouraged by your actions.
Also saints, people of God don’t use the same tongue for lying, blessings and cursings and bearing false witness against others. You can’t curse and spit out vile words in one breath and praise the lord with the next breath.
As saints of god daily, we need a tongue check and watch what. Even our speech must and conversation must line up with the will of God!
The word of God says be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; so lets take note of this and watch what we say!
