“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty,” Psalm 91:1.

“so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” Matthew 6:18.

Psalm 91:1 and Matthew 6:18 both talk about The Secret Place.

The Secret Place is where you dwell is the presence of God and you communicate with Him.

Here are 3 tips to help you transition into the secret place, so you can spend quality time with Jesus.

1) Focus

There are a lot of distractions wherever you go to sit with Jesus.

It might be doors opening and closing or birds singing.

But whatever the noise is, focus inward.

Jesus says, “Do not care about the noises around you. Put away your phone.”

2) Concentrate on Jesus’ voice

Jesus says, “This is stilling your mind.”

Jesus wants us to calm, or still, our minds by waiting in expectation for His voice.

Jesus will speak to you. It is a fact.

Know this and believe this and calm your mind as you concentrate on listening for His Voice.

3) Desire

Jesus says, “Come to Me because you want to. Come to seek Me.

Do not come because you feel like you have to.

Come to Me because your heart yearns for Me and I will give you the desires of your heart.”

A prayer for us:

“Jesus you are the King of Kings.

Help us to enter into Your Secret Place and remind us of these tips because we want to connect with You and dwell in Your love and hope.

Reveal to us our next steps and open our eyes with revelation of who You are and what You desire for us.

Speak to us LORD and allow us to hear You clearly. Amen.”
