This is the time right now to get ready with your vision!

You must first have a vision before it can become a reality, but how do you get one?

After years of pursuing the vision God gave me 20 years ago, I have some hard-won, practical tips to help you get started!

1 Get clear on exactly what you want to do.

Maybe you’re not sure of what you want to do for your entire life, but you know you need to do something to get you moving forward.

Here’s one of the best Bible verses for taking that first step:

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path,” Psalm 119:105 NIV.

Have you ever used a lamp to light your way? Or maybe a flashlight?

Sometimes the light illuminates only enough to show you your immediate next steps.

Ask God to give you clarity on the next steps you can take in your life to move towards your goals. It may be only enough information to take that next step, but trust God that He will get you where you need to go.

2 Don’t be afraid of starting small.

God may give you something small to do for starters. Maybe you’ll start with cleaning out the garage and getting your house organized. Remember, the small stuff leads to bigger stuff!

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much,” Luke 16:10 NIV.

Learn how to be disciplined in the small before tackling the large! It’s in the process when we learn what works and what doesn’t. There are necessary lessons to learn while being faithful in the little stuff.

“Do not despise these small beginnings … ” Zechariah 4:10 NIV.

3 Do your research.

We live in a time when we can get all the information we need with a click of a button.

If you want to start a business, there are thousands of books out there that tell you how to do it. If you want to pick up a new hobby, there are many articles you can read or videos to watch for free that give you step-by-step instructions.

When I wanted to start doing street ministry, I found out that John Paul Jackson was doing what I had envisioned. So, I took his courses and ended up traveling the world with him, learning on the go.

Whatever you want to do, someone out there has already done it — or something like it — and wants to share with you how you can do it, too.

It’s been about twenty years since The LORD gave my wife, Linda, and me a vision after we watched a video of Prophet Bob Jones talking about the “billion soul harvest.”

We sold everything to run after this vision and founded our ministry, InLight Connection, two years later.

God has been faithful and so good to us these past 18 years — even when times get hard. The Lord has always been here for us supporting the Vision for Revival.

God will be there for you, too, as you pursue what He’s given you to do!
