Till the Ground In The Glory — The Glide Is The Glory
Eagles don’t put in a lot of struggle to fly, as most other birds do.
They simply wait for the right wind and wind direction, and then SOAR, gliding on it to their destination.
(Right in the midst of those words, THE HOLY SPIRIT led me to this video clip demonstrating how eagles fly)
About a year ago, I had emailed a prominent CEO in the global marketing and advertising industry to find out how things were going with him. (He’s an unbeliever for whom I’m praying fervently to be saved).
In his reply, he talked about persevering in the pandemic, and then stated with self-inflicting indulgence: “The grind is the glory…”
In response, I said to Him: ‘in Christ Jesus, it is rather “The GLIDE is The Glory!“‘
Brethren, it can be a grind for unbelievers, but for us in CHRIST JESUS, it MUST be a GLIDE.
And it all happens in The Glory – getting and going by GOD’s Strategies daily obtained in The Secret Place of THE MOST HIGH, (Psalm 91).
“Trust in THE LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
That way, we are able to soar above the storms of life – just as eagles do.
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Everlasting GOD, THE LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His Understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on THE LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31 emphasis added.
You see, in our voyage to Heaven, the waters are not without turbulence some of the time. But with THE LORD in our boat night and day (through continually seeking and following His Leading and Direction), we can navigate successfully and not have shipwreck.
THE LORD has made this abundantly clear to us:
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
As THE LORD JESUS has said,
“My Grace is sufficient for you, for My Strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Always ask for His Grace and Strength, whether things are all plain sailing or turbulent.
With this Revelation, Paul then said: “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities [inabilities], that THE POWER OF CHRIST may rest upon me.” (See 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
Referring to Paul’s statement, THE HOLY SPIRIT said to me recently: “That’s what John the Baptist meant when he said ‘He must increase, but I must decrease.”
When we let THE LORD increase in our lives and situations, but we decrease by depending on Him entirely, trusting Him and entrusting Him with our lives and situations, He will help us to win every time.
We must always do it like Jehoshaphat.
Facing a BIG trouble of overwhelming imminent military attack, He sought THE LORD. Immediately, THE HOLY SPIRIT told Him what to do.
He did it, and GOD gave him rest all around, after securing a dramatic victory and spoils of war for him over his enemies who had come to destroy him and his realm.
(Please read the whole account in 2 Chronicles 20:1-29. It is always faith-building to study).
Till the ground in The Glory, not outside The Glory
In Genesis 1:5, before Adam was created, GOD had need for man to “till the ground” in The Glory.
And when he was created, Adam worked this way in Eden. It was life and work without toil — the way GOD does work.
But when man sinned, THE LORD GOD cast him out of The Garden of Eden, and told him to “till the ground” (Genesis 3:23). This was outside The Glory, and it was all toil and trouble — as it is this day in the world.
So we see then that GOD requires man to till the ground (to work). But it must be done in The Glory — by His Wisdom and Direction.
“For we are His workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
“[F]or it is GOD Who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13.
On two different occasions (before and after THE CROSS — see Luke 5 and John 21), Peter and his fishing business colleagues toiled all night and caught nothing. But on both occasions, THE LORD OF GLORY showed up and showed them what to do.
When they OBEYED, they had exceedingly great success beyond imagination.
Always ask THE LORD to show up for you and show you what to do in every situation.
Tilling the ground: in The Glory vs. outside The Glory
The former is Spiritually-minded — which is life and peace. The latter is carnally minded — which is death!
The former is according to CHRIST, but the latter is according to the flesh.
The former brings forth Isaac, giving great joy and laughter, (Genesis 21: 3,5-6), but the latter produces Ishmael, causing much scoffing trouble and pain, (Genesis 16:4;21:9; Galatians 4:29).
Tilling the ground in The Glory is a Philippians 4:13 kind of endeavou — it is all done through CHRIST.
Is it church growth, pastor? You don’t devise your own strategies. You fast and pray for THE LORD’s Strategy. And execute it through Him. He said “I will build MY Church…” (Matthew 16:18).
Don’t build YOUR church! Let THE LORD build HIS Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against It.
When JESUS used GOD’s Strategy, He ministered to the Samaritan woman at the well, and a whole city was saved the same day.
That’s how you do evangelism: only preaching what, where, how and to whom THE HOLY SPIRIT sends you.
In Acts 16, Paul did this, and The Gospel got into Europe (the region of ancient Macedonia) and spread forth.
Is it business, mister? You let THE LORD JESUS teach you how to profit, (Isaiah 48:17).
Is it employment, dear jobseeker? You seek THE LORD to give you the job He has lined up for you before you were born.
Don’t seek and pursue your own plans and preference.
Pursuing selfish ambitions, one’s own plans and strategies is tilling the ground outside The Glory. It always gets one into the captivity of the devil, and can lead to death and destruction.
This was what happened to Samson.
The CHRIST in you, the hope of Glory!
In Eden, THE LORD GOD only had personal and work fellowship with Adam. He was not in him. Yet Adam named all the uncountable animals and birds, and managed the creation — all because of The Glory.
Now at the end of the age, THE LORD Himself, indeed, ALL The Fullness of THE GODHEAD, dwells in us as well as has personal and work fellowship with us, wherever we are, whatever matter we have!
Think about that. Meditate on that. THE GOD Who has all power, THE GOD Who created and controls all things, THE GOD to Whom belong The Kingdom, Power and The Glory, yes, The Glory and The Dominion, dwells in us, works in us and with us!
Therefore, all we need to till the ground in The Glory, is to ask THE GOD of Glory, THE FATHER of Glory, THE KING of Glory, THE LORD of Glory, THE SPIRIT of Glory and of GOD!
THE LORD wants us to know and walk in this revelation and realm so as to succeed in Him:
“To them GOD willed to make known what are the riches of The Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is CHRIST in you, the hope of Glory.” Colossians 1:27.
Through THE LORD OF GLORY we can do all things, just as Paul said and did:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
He preached The Gospel full-time in many countries and regions, established churches, wrote most of The New Testament, and at the same time did business to cater for himself and his ministry team.
It is all possible through CHRIST — by living and leaning on Him night and day.
We don’t have to toil like the first Adam after he was cast out of Eden. For The Last Adam bears it all for us.
As He has said,
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I AM gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My Yoke is easy and My Burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
Therefore, till the ground in The Glory, not outside The Glory.
“The Blessing of THE LORD truly makes rich and adds no sorrow to it.” Proverbs 10:22.
Shalom!
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20)
And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, “the disciple whom JESUS loves” and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
This is one of the most insightful posts I’ve read on here so far! Thank you Jacob for sharing with us. Amen and Amen!
