This Passover: New Authority, Freedom & Creative Flow
Have you been asking God for new growth and change?
This year, Passover starts at sundown on April 19 and goes through sundown April 27.
Passover is a Jewish festival that celebrates God’s greatness and mercy. God gave instructions to the Israelites in Egypt that would cause the disaster, or destroyer, to “pass over” their houses, (Exodus 11–12).
While you don’t have to celebrate Passover, the festival is a prophetic sign that God can reveal strategies to help you avoid difficult times — or even receive a blessing in the midst of them!
Here are a few ways God is moving in the Spirit this Passover.
New freedom is here!
When God gave the Israelites a strategy for the destroyer to “pass over” their houses, it was not was not only to protect them, but to give them their freedom!
Immediately after Passover, the Pharaoh of Egypt released the Israelites from slavery — after 430 years!
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery,” Galatians 5:1 NIV.
God is releasing new freedom this Passover!
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed,” John 8:36 NIV.
God is releasing new authority!
Once God set the Israelites free from their bondage, He told them to ask the Egyptians for silver, gold and clothing so they could enter into the new season of freedom prosperously.
“The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians,” Exodus 12:35–36 NIV.
After freedom came new authority, promotion and even financial blessings! God is restoring all the enemy stole.
This reminds me of a Psalm of David:
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows,” Psalm 23:5 NIV.
This is a season of restoration, favor and repayment!
Watch for a new creative flow…
As Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, they weren’t completely out of danger yet. Pharaoh sent his army after them, but God showed up with a major miracle!
“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left,” Exodus 14:21–22 NIV.
After the Egyptians were defeated, Miriam was inspired by the Spirit of the Lord’s creative flow.
“Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing,” Exodus 15:20 NIV.
As you step into the new things God reveals to you this Passover season, do not be surprised if you feel a surge of new creativity!
New beginnings are here!
The 8 days of Passover are a time when God will reveal new authority, freedom and creative flow. Since 8 is the number of new beginnings, you can believe for things to change and unfold over the next few weeks and months.
Expect to see things align strategically!
Blessings,
