This Battle Is Not a Natural One — But a Spiritual One!
Put up the Sword! This battle is not a Natural one — but a Spiritual one that consists not of flesh and blood!
As I was meditating upon The LORD, He spoke to me how that many people don’t realize that the enemy they are fighting is not against flesh and blood but it is one that cannot be seen with the natural eyes!
“Then said Jesus unto him, “Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall presently give me more than twelve Legions of Angels?
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.” Matthew 26:52-58 KJV.
Jesus had to remind Peter that He was a man of both Power and Authority and the problem with Peter taking up the sword to fight his own battle, was that He did not come to destroy the lives of men, but to save them!
Peter was not walking after The Spirit but after the flesh!
I heard The LORD speaking to me in prayer the word “Road.” But as I begin to think upon why He spoke that Word of Knowledge to me, I realized that this road has many directions that one can take, to but if there are no specific instructions or directions, one will never reach one’s assigned destination!
The Book of Isaiah talks about a road; a highway, and he states,
“And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall {not} pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there. And the ransomed of The LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 35:8-10.
Jesus had to remind Peter of this highway and the Power and Authority it came with, but He also let him know this power was not to be unleashed foolishly to deter one away from their assignment in the earth.
And this is why He warned Peter to put up the sword, because an-eye-for-an-eye ,was not the way to His Kingdom.
Many times we — as the people of God — are looking for an easy way out of our suffering and trials but Jesus let Peter know He needed to make a sacrifice, so that others would come to The Kingdom.
He explained that this suffering was destined and preordained for all humanity.
The LORD allowed the Disciples all to flee during Jesus persecution, and He was left alone to bear a cup that was prepared just for Him and Him alone!
Many are looking for man to be a support and a prop to hold them up, but some cups, God is going to prepare that only you will be allowed to drink from, my friends!
Many will follow you afar off in this season, not because they don’t want to help you, or to be a support to you, but because they are not able to bear a cup that was not prepared for them!
Peter sat back, far off, waiting and watching Jesus to see all that would become of Him and the help he tried to offer Christ, was one that was not of the leading of The Spirit, but that which was of his spirit!
Look out for those walking in the flesh who will try to deter you from your own Destiny by offering you help that will lead you down a carnal road, instead of the assigned Destiny God has placed you on!
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
