They Have Money but Not God
This Word is based on a conversation I had with a woman of God when she asked me, “Why is it that wicked people seem to prosper?“
I didn’t know what to respond, so I inquired of The Holy Spirit and I said that this question has been asked for generations.
Then I heard this in my Spirit, “Do you notice in most people who are rich — the money is their God?”
Deuteronomy 8:18 says,
“But thou shalt remember The LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”
There are individuals who amass great wealth and earthly riches in large estates and profitable business ventures and in gold and silver, who tend to disregard God as The One Who provides and makes it possible.
They yield to the temptation of pride and boastfulness and become conceited. They accredit the acquisition of their possessions to their own strength, prowess carnal academia, achievements and wisdom.
Their riches become their stronghold, no glory or thankfulness is given to God the Benefactor, though the Bible declares that the earth is The LORD’s and all its fullness (Psalm 24:1)
They are also otherwise preoccupied with the idea of attaining much more — such that they have no relationship with God.
It consumes their existence. Whereas, the ones who are in a more humbled state, believe in Divine Provision, and when they are helped or lifted give honor to God, they believe it is proof of Faith and Answered Prayers — hence drawing closer to that ever flowing well of not only physical — but spiritual — wealth!
God is The Source!
All good things come from The Father however, but the reality is that there are other unholy entities that promise wealth, riches and fame — but always at an eternal cost — which is the forfeiting of your life, damnation, and being far removed from The Grace of God.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, but lose his soul?” Mark 8:36
The world, it’s finest pleasures and all therein, are only for a season — but your soul is immortal.
So, in essence, there are persons who have bargained with and made allegiance to other beings, and because of greed, have participated in abominable and unrighteous acts for material gain and now do not have God, The Ruach and so they are dead — even while living.
Where there are two masters, we will either serve one and oppose the other, so if the things of this earth are our hearts affections, then we ultimately become at odds with the Creator.
It is not God’s Will for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9) and so in our dealings with Him and His providence, in His benevolence, He will try us to prove the disposition of our hearts, so as to both pull on Graces, and expose corruption and that which has been tainted.
Brethren, far be it from The Father’s Will — neither is He pleased to see any of His children deprived or in a state of lack, insufficiency in terms of economic stability.
In fact His Word clearly states that He has pleasure in both the temporal and spiritual prosperity of His servant (Psalm 35:27)
He does not want us to only survive but thrive in happiness, peace, joy, our whole man.
Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2) but we should never allow for these desires and acquisitions to form a wedge between us and God.
Conclusion
In conclusion, material wealth — that which can be destroyed and without eternal and spiritual value and no salvation — isn’t evidence of prosperity!
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
