There Are Distinctive Differences Between Prophets!
Prophets: There Are Distinctive Differences Between Each of Us as Seen in How We Prophesy!
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good,” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.
As we know, there are a variety of ministries and a variety of gifts that have been dispersed throughout the body of Christ.
I have noticed over the years how each person who has been given a gift of prophecy, differs from someone else.
We are all individuals and because of our innate personalities and distinctive souls and spirits, the words and phrases that we use when prophesying, can be noticeable.
I’m not now referring to those times when a prophecy is noticeably seen as false or doesn’t sound right in our spirits, I’m merely pointing out how God somehow speaks through us in a distinctive way because we are all unique and formed as such by Him.
There are those whose words and phrases may come out in a poetic form, while others are almost fragmented and disjointed.
Other messages may well pin-point specific places or current events, while someone else speaks of those things from the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
One may well speak as a rebuke from the Father, and yet someone else may well lend something that is more teachable or instructive.
It goes without saying that there is a clear difference between the simple gift of prophecy and the office of a prophet.
And yet, each of those who speak or write words of prophecy have their own unique and distinctive flavor that is seen in the message that is uttered.
And yet one must also know and be aware of the fact that there are times when through the course of prophesying, that our own minds and spirits can add to those words that come from The Holy Spirit.
Those who are trained in the discerning of spirits should see and pin-point when those words are added. And yet how often does this happen?
It’s important to realize that I’m not in any way calling upon people to dissect every word and phrase that is seen in the words of prophecy that we read and hear today.
However, we are called upon to test the spirits to see if indeed, they are of God.
There may well be hidden clues seen in the words that we read that reveal what is hidden within.
There we may see the spirit of the person revealed either in a resounding pure word from God or one that has been added upon.
In conclusion, please note that I’m not in any way elevating this gift above any of the other ones. Each and every one of the gifts and ministries are given for the common good of all, and those that may seem to be less important are given a greater honor.

Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
