The Year of The LORD’s Favor
A Psalm praise and sing to God, out loud.
The Year of The LORD’s Favor
This year, O LORD,
You are going to make
Righteousness and Praise
Spring up before all nations
Just as the soil makes the sprout come up
And a garden causes seeds to grow
There is coming a great harvest like no other
This year, O LORD,
You are going to bind up the broken-hearted
And proclaim freedom for the captives
And release from darkness for the prisoners
To comfort all who mourn
To make an everlasting covenant with Your People
They will rejoice for days and days in Your Presence
This is The Year of The LORD’s Favor
Oh people look not to man to save you
But to our Sovereign LORD in all His Splendor
He will turn things around
He will turn despair into hope
He will remove the shame and give everlasting joy
This year, O LORD,
You will show Your Glory and bestow on Your People
A crown of beauty instead of ashes
The oil of joy instead of mourning
And a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair
Your People will shine brightly
And be called oaks of righteousness
This year, O LORD,
You will call forth Your Faithful
In Your Faithfulness, You will reward them
And all who look upon them
Will acknowledge that they are a people
You have blessed abundantly
For they will inherit a double portion in their land
This is The Year of The LORD’s Favor
Oh people look not to man to save you
But to our Sovereign LORD in all His Splendor
He will turn things around
He will turn despair into hope
He will remove the shame and give everlasting joy
You will redeem Your People from injustice, O LORD,
And clothe them in garments of Salvation and Righteousness
Your People will display Your Splendor, O LORD,
And the day of Your Vengeance will only be for the wicked
This is The Year of The LORD’s Favor
Oh people look not to man to save you
But to our Sovereign LORD in all His Splendor
He will turn things around
He will turn despair into hope
He will remove the shame and give everlasting joy!
O LORD, You are The Everlasting Light
You have planted us, tiny shoots, the work of Your Hands
You will not fail us in Your Splendor
Oh come soon, O LORD, in The Year of Your Favor,
Let Your Glory and Splendor shine throughout the earth
And make Righteousness and Praise
Spring up before all nations!
“Then all your people will be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor.” Isaiah 60:21
“You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.” Deuteronomy 28:3
“The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.” D euteronomy 28:7
“The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of The LORD your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of The LORD, and they will fear you. The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.” Deuteronomy 28:9-11
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
“As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit. Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.” Zechariah 9:11-12
“For The LORD will deliver Jacob and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they. They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of The LORD — the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty,” declares The LORD.” Jeremiah 31:11-14
