The Wisdom of the World Vs. Wisdom From Above
The wisdom of the world is carnal (1 Corinthians 1:20;2:6,3:19) and the carnal mind is at enmity with God (Romans 8:7).
The secular (heathen) Left carries enmity with God over to enmity with Christians.
The secular Left run on wisdom that is “not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.” James 3:15-16/
Up until after the second world war, Christianity pervaded the American culture, with biblical definition of right and wrong, purity and sin, before God.
Since their worldview is atheistic the secular Left could not come right out and say that was irrational and they had a more enlightened way to live — without God in this world (Ephesians 2:12).
Coming out against Christianity would be counterproductive to their goals. So, they subtly set about to set up their strongholds over a term of several generations.
They went about it with guile and deception, appealing to mankind’s fleshly nature to gradually establish their worldview.
Although the secular Left is a minority in America, they made huge strides in eroding our godly culture and fermenting social upheaval. With the help of continuous media propaganda, enlightened academicians and secular judges, they saw plenty of bad fruit.
Obama clearly showed his disdain for Christians in a snide remark.
“They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Barak Obama
That’s like the pot calling the kettle black.
The Left learners are bitter haters and hard to live among. The contrast between their culture and God’s culture is readily apparent. They will reap what they sow.
We who follow Messiah Jesus run on wisdom from above.
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18
Walk by the Spirit
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Messiah have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.” Galatians 5:16-24.
Don’t be deceived.
“Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8.
