The Whetting Stone
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone….
…. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame,” Psalm 118:22; 1 Peter 2:6, NKJV.
“My child, when a cook is preparing food and needs to chop up vegetables, he uses a knife.
But if the knife has a dull edge, he must expend more energy and work harder to achieve his purposes.
In fact, a dull knife can ruin things, such as, pulverizing a ripe tomato instead of making clean even slices.
I AM not giving you a cooking lesson.
I AM using common everyday things you have experienced to give you greater revelation of the importance of My Word.
The Spirit plus My Word equals you SWORD!
I have given My people many weapons, but the Word, your sword, is the primary one. In the wilderness, your King defeated the dark one by wielding the Word and declaring, “IT IS WRITTEN!”
A sword has a sharp edge. A two-edged sword has a sharp edge on both sides of the blade. It cuts going in and coming out.
But if the blade edge is dull, it will not work as the weapon maker designed it to work.
A true warrior hones* the edge of his sword until it is sharper-than-sharp.**
A well balanced sharp sword requires less effort to strike a fatal blow.
The ancients, like Joshua, did not unsheathe their swords unless they intended to use it. It was a serous act, not to be done in a frivolous way or manner.
My children have been given the great Sword of the Spirit, the Word, to use against the forces of darkness.
But they are responsible to keep it sharper-than-sharp. A sword with a dull blade will cause the warrior to wear himself out because his blows are ineffective.
Instead of executing a clean, swift, and precise cut against the chains of darkness, his dull sword will cause him to have to hack and hack and hack.
This quickly wears the warrior out without doing much harm to the minions of darkness.
I have many weary and worn out soldiers because they have neglected to hone their blades.
The whetstone* they are to use is the “Stone that the builders rejected.”
In this process of whetting your blade, you must use the Oil of My Spirit to keep the blade from warping — being bent out of shape; misshapen.
Only Holy Spirit can keep you from error and show you how to rightly divide the Word: diving the soulish self from the true purposes of My Spirit,
The deeper you press into intimacy with the Rock of Your Salvation, the sharper your sword’s edge becomes.
This mighty weapon is to be so sharp that with a simple flick of your wrist a devastating blow can be accomplished against the forces of evil.
The dark one fears the child of God who has a sharper-than-sharp sword. That is why he goes to great lengths to distract from and demonize the true Word of God.
He comes with his religious platitudes and doctrines of demons to dissuade My people from fully activating the power of My Word as the mighty weapon it is.
Faith is the hand that swings the Sword. But faith must work by the power of Love to enable you to hit the mark.
Come now and learn of the old ways and walk the ancient paths.
I want you to learn how to wield your sword effectively and efficiently. Teach others how to do this, too. My army is rising up with drawn swords even now.
Press in deeply into My Word and let me be your whetting stone*.
I AM able to do this work in you, but you must give your all to Me. I release blessings upon you and your house this day. Receive.
Rejoice. Great victories await us in the fields. Shalom.”
* Whetstone: a stone for whetting edge tools. Whetting: to sharpen by rubbing on or with something (such as a stone); whet a knife. Hone: to sharpen or smooth with a whetstone. © Miriam Webster On-Line Dictionary.
** Sharper-than-sharp: razor sharp; exceedingly sharp.
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…..”
…… “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart,” Ephesians 6:17, NKJV; Hebrews 12:4, AMPC.
