People ask, why do you always seem to talk about negative things? Why is it necessary to constantly refer to things that are coming upon the Earth? Can’t you speak about some things that are uplifting; things that make people feel better, not bring them down more?
You know, I was asking God, the same thing. Why can’t I talk about things that don’t seem so much like a correction, or having to point out the bad things going on? I must say, that the thought that came to me, was simple; but profound.
I would like to pose it as a question back to you. What if all of these things people are predicting here; what’s happening on and to this planet, even including the church, does come to pass? What if it does; all of it? And those who were supposed to tell it and to proclaim it, kept it to themselves?
Frankly, they did not do what God had called them to do; either out of fear of the people, or for the love of complacency, and comfort. And most, really did not see it coming. What if a true storm was approaching, and those whose job it was to alert everyone, were asleep or they were distracted?
The religious system of the old time, continually destroyed those who had been called to watch. They had them killed without mercy and put many in prisons and dungeons. They even starved them out. The religious system of our day, has done and is doing, the same thing.
Let it be proclaimed from the rooftop, that you can kill the flesh, but you cannot kill the Holy Ghost. It might seem a bit strange to say it this way, but you cannot kill God. In the fear of the Lord, may I say that one of the ways we have been wicked, was to change what God set in the church; by twisting His New Testament ministries.
Isaiah said some very tough things about the watchmen. You see, one of the misconceptions of this day, is to think that those things that were spoken in that day, were only for that time. The Spirit, the anointed prophecy and speaker appointed by God, can speak back then for that day, and it came reach across the spans to our time. God’s Word, is alive. The Spirit quickens it, and teaches it to those who want to hear. So, what about this Prophet. What did the Lord tell Him to speak about this subject; was it of the Holy Ghost.
His watchmen are blind; they are ignorant, dumb dogs, that cannot bark, loving slumber, or the easy road. And, they are greedy dogs, which can never have enough. Pause for a moment:
These words so far, don’t they already describe, what so many of us are seeing today. They are shepherds, that cannot understand. And the final words: They look to their own way, everyone for his gain, from his quarter. And let us pay close attention to how Isaiah started this; it was “His” watchmen, not those who made themselves watchmen.
God told Ezekiel, “I” have made thee a watchman.”
Jesus Christ said to watch; and why? He said, we won’t know the hour; and that if we did not watch, we would not be prepared for the things that are coming upon us all.
Many are not going to hear; God told our dear Ezekiel, “They won’t hear you; because they won’t hear me.”
Dear Lord, what a tough commission He gave him. A face, like a flint; the strength and power to stand, and proclaim it anyway. Not in self, not in fanfare; but, in obedience, humility and in love.
God has called, anointed and equipped His watchmen. He said that the very heavens, would be shaken.
Watchmen, shake yourself, today.
