The LORD took me this morning to a poem entitled, “The Touch of the Master’s Hand.”

The portrait of this hangs in the dining room of my parents home even today. It was one of my precious Dad’s favorites!

For you see, there was a violin so battered and scarred. It was ready to be auctioned off.

To the natural eyes, it did not appear to be much worth. The auctioneer began to seek bids for the tattered old violin.

Suddenly from the far back of the room, a gray bearded man came forward and picked up the instrument. He wiped away the dust and tightened the strings. He then began to play a melody as sweet as the angels would sing.

When all was done, some cheered and some cried for at that moment the worth of the violin changed.

The potter plans a thing of beauty; yet, sometimes it gets marred, messed up. But thanks be to God, we are still in the Master’s hands.

Haters and agitators may see no worth, but God sees a gem. Just like one of my most favorite quotes, “I may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but that is okay!”

What we might consider worthless, ugly, useless, unwanted, The Master finds of worth.

You may be misunderstood, marred by circumstances, messed up, but you are in the Master’s Hand.

Your life sometimes may seem out of tune, battered and bruised with the storms.

It may seem much like that old violin auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd. But then the Master comes, takes you up in his hands and with your life produces a sweet melody.

They may say, “We just don’t understand.” “What changed its’ worth?”

Swift comes the reply. “The Touch of the Masters Hand.”

“But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the Touch of the Masters’ Hand,”
