The Throne of Grace
The Throne of Grace — Another Study from Hebrews
Today’s text:
“14 Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great high priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in him as savior].
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but one who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin,” Hebrews 4:14-15.
Many do not understand God’s Grace!
Those who do not understand Grace, [God’s Grace], do not understand that when they reject, [a God who has Grace] they are opening themselves up to no forgiveness.
The reason they open themselves up for terrible judgment and forgiveness, is because the scriptures tell us that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
To hear them talk about their idea of Grace [greasy grace which encourages men to live anyway they want to], they slap the hand of God’s Grace and say, “I do not need His Grace, for I must prove myself worthy to receive His Love.”
The fact is…. Salvation must be received ‘by Grace’ — not works!
The fact is, many today have a very terrible opinion of God. They see Him as all Law and Judgment. To many then, God would be like walking about in Heaven and watching who sins next.
If He sees one sin, He has a big stick and will hit them in the head.
It is like [to them who do not see God as full of Grace]; they see Him as a God who is terrible. Fear will rule their day, because they believe God is just waiting to throw them into hell for doing the slightest thing wrong, [sin, for he that knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin — James 4:17)
How horrible the thought that God is such a one, who is so terrible as to not have any Grace, or Mercy!
Grace means unmerited favor. If God is a God of Grace — and He is! — then God is a One who gives out of Love.
God does not move and work in judgment in every instance, but God moves in Grace. He gives me unmerited favor, simply because He is a loving and compassionate God.
God is full of compassion…
“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy and loving-kindness. He will not always chide or be contending, neither will he keep his anger forever or hold a grudge.
He has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are his mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As a father loves and pities his children, so The LORD loves and pities those who fear him [with reverence, worship, and awe]. For he knows our frame, he [earnestly] remembers and imprints [on his heart] that we are dust,” Psalm 103:8-14.
Oh what a description of our God! A compassionate God who is full of Love and………. Grace!
The [text above] has a most beautiful verse [Book of Hebrews chapter 4, verse 15, speaks about a Throne of Grace, that men can come to and find help and forgiveness or all they need.
The men coming can come freely and not as beggars, but as sons before this Throne. The comers need not come to the [back door of Heaven to seek God’s help], but they can come to the Front Door and then they can freely come in before The Throne of God!
The Throne is located, [according to the Word] seated upon a Sea of Glass [crystal clear pureness]. Around this Throne upon the Sea of Glass, there are mighty Angels who praise The LORD day and night saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy is The LORD God Almighty,” Revelation 4:8.
There could even be throngs of thousands of other Angels looking on.
Men are invited to come and will even be ushered into the very Throne Room to stand before The LORD God Almighty. He is received with Love and Grace.
God even interpret their imperfect prayers, for He understands them. Even if a man cannot speak perfectly, He is still received.
Why is it so?
It is described in the verse15 why:
“He is a great high priest who can ….. aympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but one who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin.”
He looks upon all who come understanding their frame. He sees that one which He Loves, and has compassion for, because He Himself was at one time, made a man to suffer for the sins of the people.
He did experience all we experience, therefore He can be one of compassion and understanding.
It is good to know that this God of Grace will give you all you need, and not because you deserve it, but because He Loves you.
He does see your pitiful frame and His Love goes out, and in Grace He gives you exactly what you need to receive.
I love to even think of his great grace, for without this Grace would we not all be most miserable. Sinners as we are, we need a God of great Grace!
Quit talking ugly about God’s Grace and start talking about His marvelous Grace.
Grace that exceeds all of our sin and same.
Grace that is greater… “than all our sins….”
Let us come boldly to this wonderful Throne of Grace, that we may receive grace and help in time of need.

I have posted this teaching word in love, as I hear it coming from my LORD. He Loves and is full of Grace. Marvelous grace!
LORD, help men to see your grace!
