The Thoughts That Are Higher
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.” James 3:13.
How often do we see those expressing themselves by using inappropriate behavior and act as if no one could possibly outdo them?
Or what about times when we hear talk about those certain people who seem “slow”, or “not capable” of keeping up with the elite in your workplace?
I have seen many times when the Primadonas are suddenly embarrassed, when those whom they mock rightfully put them in their place. What a sight to see!
“For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.” James 3:16-17.
So, how should we handle our own thoughts about those who try to ensnare us, as if we could never get away from them?
For one thing, don’t answer those who don’t respect you!
Concerning your own conduct, remember the words of Isaiah 55,
“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to The LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says The LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:7-9.
Yet we still need to take our stand in Christ to overcome our sense of being mistreated.
In Romans 12 it states;
“I beseech you brethren by the mercies of God that we present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is our worship; it is the right thing to do. And not be conformed to this world, but be transformed (metamorphosis) by the renewing of our minds so that we can prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God,” Romans 12:1-2.
In other words, “take the high road!”
“For the Angel of The LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them,” Psalm 34:7.
These things says He Who is holy, He Who is true,
“He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.
I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My Word, and have not denied My name.” Revelation 4:7-8.
“I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and (truly consider) what I will answer when I am corrected. Then The LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just will live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:1-4.
