The Superiority of Jesus Christ the Son of God — Pt.2

Today we will look at:
Part 2: The Superiority of Jesus Christ Over Moses
As we looked in the book of Hebrews yesterday, we discovered that Jesus Christ the Son of God, was superior to the prophets of old, and to the Angels.
Now, let’s discover why Jesus Christ is superior to Moses, to whom the Law was given.
1. Hebrews 2:17 says “that in all things it behoved Him (Jesus) to be made like unto His brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”
JESUS is the APOSTLE and HIGH PRIEST of our profession. (3:1) For, Jesus was faithful to Him that appointed Him, AND Jesus was counted worthy of MORE GLORY than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honor than the house….GOD IS THE BUILDER OF ALL THINGS.
2. Hebrews 3:2,5 says that Moses was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after.
What is this testimony of things spoken after?
Remember the Law was given to Moses, and if Jesus Christ ministry is greater than Moses’, what does this mean for us today?
How do we view The Law given to Moses?
“7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away,” 2 Corinthians 3:7-16 KJV.
“23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus,” Galatians 3:23-26 KJV.
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him,” John 1:17-18 KJV.
The LORD gave me a Word today to help us understand:
“Moses was a great man and I used him in great ways with My People. He was faithful, more than any other, and I gave him The Law because My People needed help to live, but I did not intend for it to be instituted forever.
He helped to bring in grace, like many others, showing by practice that the Law didn’t work all together, it was not meant to be the final way of life.
It can’t be. I had to make a better way. Some still try to enforce The Law of Moses today, but it is out of date. I have made a better way through Jesus.”

when I read my bible I have one basic to stand on that is ” Jesus Christ (the word)is the same yesterday and today and forever.(Heb13:8. The reason that the law didn’t work is “God found fault with the PEOPLE” (Heb8:8),not the law ,and HE promised us in Eze11:19-20 to “give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit… a heart of flesh. THEN THEY WILL FOLLOW MY DECREES AND BE CAREFUL TO KEEP MY LAWS.” Jesus said in Mt5: 17-19:” … until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, nor the least stroke of a pen , will by any means disappear from the law… ” He often spoke against Pharisees, but NOT the law itself; as it written in Mt23:2-3: “the teacher of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you MUST OBEY THEM AND DO EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU… “Also the second last verse of the ‘old testament’ said “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel ” ( Mal4:4). even Paul said in Ro3:31:” Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith ? NOT AT ALL ! rather , we UPHOLD THE LAW ” he also said in Ac24:14:” … I believe everything that agrees with the law and that is written in the Prophets” above verses are not my own and seems in contrary to ” out of date”, the Holy Spirit will not lead us to against his own word. for IF the law is in my lord’s heart ( Ps40:8) and ” it pleased the LORD for the sake of his righteousness to MAKE HIS LAW GREAT AND GLORIOUS.(Isa42:21)Then “my delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law I meditates day and night. I am like a tree …” (Ps1:2-3). outside the law is lawlessness ,it is the many antichrist who want change the law ( Da7:25), But the ” PERFECT LAW that gives FREEDOM ” (Jas1:25) and let all who LOVE THE LORD keep his commands ( 1Jn5:3) , thus REMAIN IN his love ( Jn15:10, 1Jn3:24)and ready to meet him face to face . yes, we are saved by grace , but we are SANCTIFIED by the truth which is his word ( Jn17:17)- his laws, his commands and his decrees. Amen !
