The Steps From Idleness To Inward Change
Idle thoughts are containers. We determine what we allow to fill those containers.
Words that flood your mind from outside sources must be identified. Knowing God’s Word and a healthy practice of feeding our soul will keep us alert.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,” 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV.
We must be able to determine and identify the sources of that thought. An Idle mind can get us into trouble. We must develop our thought life and realize how important it is to our lives and others.
The thought life contains what we allow to flow in our thoughts through any form of communication.
We must learn to swiftly, dispose of any deceptive thoughts that are designed to hurt you and others. WE are to take every thought captive. We have that command and it is crucial we learn this well.
The battle ground is always fought and won in the mind and soul. The soul is comprised of the mind, will, intellect and personality; It is what makes us unique from each other.
There must be such emphasis on this topic as we can rise or fall due to choices made by allowing unholy thoughts that wage war against our soul.
It is imperative that we must learn to bring every thought captive into obedience to God’s word.
Take some time now, and do a overview. Where and what have our thoughts been saying to us?
Who has been speaking to our mind and their origin?
Before we ever act on our thoughts, we have had to come into agreement in our soul before it is ever spoken. Our soulish mind is our command and control center.
In these places are where we devise God’s plan, our plan or demonic plans. Whatever we give place to and allow our thoughts to entertain, will become our future if we are not careful.
For example, if we sin and offend someone, we need to resolve it quickly. By doing this we are cutting off the enemy’s plans to wreak havoc!
Like King David, he not only knocked down Goliath with a stone, he came and finished the job! He cut off his head!
David cut off the command and control center of the enemy!! He severed that enemy so bad the Philistines turned and ran away from whom they thought was their champion!
“Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled,” 1 Samuel 17:51 KJV.
If a person receives offense and begins to spread the effects widely, this gives the demons permission to flourish within that effected area, and all with OUR given authority.
Until we take back that authority and deal with it, it will continue to get worse. In a lot of sad situations it can become so bad that brings such damage that it will divide those we love.
I have grieved over those I lost as friends, or family when I know it was the enemy. I wasn’t able to correct it in time and the person couldn’t hear me nor wanted anything to do with me.
Yes, for some it was just too late and it broke my heart. They moved on thinking such ugly things about me.
After doing ALL you can do, even in frustration, WE must learn to let go and leave the results up to God.
I am so glad the Lord knows my heart regardless of what man thinks or says. He knows I never desire to hurt no one.
My point here is, deal with issues quickly at the planning stages. Deal with it spiritually with your soul first, but if it has manifested in the natural realm, take dominion and destroy the works of the devil.
Once we are at the natural realm, many souls could be hurt. Give NO place to the devil. Forgive them, loose them and let them go.
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God,” Matthew 5:8 KJV.
Our ship (us) are controlled by a helm, (our tongue) but the choice of that direction came from the mind. We must learn to have control of our thought life.
The enemy strives daily to find weakness so he can to be invade us with corruption thoughts. *See James 3*
There are so many things we allow ourselves to sit, watch and listen to, if we are not careful they become our thoughts.
When we come into agreement with what was luring us into captivity then we become deceived.
The enemy strives for weeks and months or longer to set us up for a major fall. The good thing about this process is, once it is revealed we can take authority. However, it takes greater effort to resolve issues, if they can be resolved.
We must try to do our best in bringing peace and forgiveness to the situation.
In several of my situations, I didn’t catch them at the planning stages and once into the natural level, because of how far the process took them, it usually took those people whom I really love, out of my life.
Unless the LORD opens their eyes and revelation comes to that person, God is the only one who can open their eyes.
It was through their choices they declined in bringing peace and healing to the matter.
I have seen this a lot, that no matter how many words we speak and try to fix it, nothing works, because they swallowed the lie.
They are seeing us with a distorted demonic influence and only Christ can set them free to forgive.
The enemy watches and sets us up for open moments so he can take us step by step with lies, because we are not sharp with God’s Word and prayer.
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things,” Philippians 4:8 KJV.
Being idle in our soulish mind means we are not disciplined in that important lesson in discipleship. Our soul and mind, control our actions.
May we each learn the lessons well from the Holy Spirit, our counselor and teacher so we can master this process.
Please remember that our thought life is so critical in our personal lives and corporate lives in the Kingdom of God. Especially those who serve Him and His people.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper,” Psalms 1:1-3 KJV.
