The Spirit of Substitution
God, I will praise thy Name; for thou hast done wonderful things.
The branch of the terrible ones, shall be brought low. Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: as David did, we must praise Him first, before we attempt to say anything else, (Isaiah 25:1, 5, 9, 1 Chronicles 29:10-13).
In spite of everything, we have waited on Him. God knew when He chose us, in the end, no matter what, we’d still be waiting, (Ephesians 1).
Isaiah spoke of a people who have no understanding.
He asked some questions which apply and ring true, even today.
To whom shall He teach knowledge?
And whom shall he make to understand doctrine?
The answer that was given, was to both questions.
They, who are weaned from the milk.
It is a fact, that we have heard this kind of reference before. It was written in our dispensation, in the Grace we all live in today.
There is no need to talk about the apostle’s doctrine, unless you know what the doctrine of Jesus Christ was, and what it yet is, in the time in which we live.
Many might like to talk about how apostolic they are; but, they should talk first about how Christlike they are.
How much are we like Him?
Let us ask ourselves something.
Which comes first; following Christ, or following the Apostles?
If we are not following all of the teachings of Christ, we surely couldn’t be following the other.
To be truly Christian, we would have to act like Christ acted.
We can say we are like the apostles, but can we all perform the same things, the same acts they did?
Do we come in the same power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost as Paul said he came with?
Strange, that he spoke about coming to others with “enticing words” of men (1 Corinthians 2:4).
Could this be what we are seeing in what is being presented behind many pulpits now?
What is doctrine, without the true power and demonstration that goes with it?
Were we ever truly taught the things we should have been, or have we forgotten those things?
Were we taught by the Spirit; by men and women following the leading of the Holy Ghost?
Who were those who taught true precepts, from Him and by Him?
The Spirit wishes to declare today, that too many were not taught the things they ought.
It’s why so many must be taught, all over again; from scratch.
God revealed some things to some; just as He gave some certain gifts, but not to others.
But everyone of us, should have had our own personal revelation of Jesus Christ.
We were encouraged to seek to know more about God and His ways. To understand more about the Spirit and how He genuinely operates in the Church and in our lives.
The real truth is, that many of us did learn those things; we sought it, we studied it, we prayed it, and we got everything we could possibly get.
Know today, what God gave to you.
Without the consideration of men, reshape and reclaim in your heart and mind, the full depth that you have in Him.
Not what you did have, but what you have had all along.
You knew things, and you still do.
It does not matter what path your way has gone, or if you may have rusted somewhat from lack of use. Substitution prevails.
There is much deception among those turned aside.
Recall it clearly, that “some” would depart from the faith. Most won’t.
