The Sin of False Entitlement!
A Gift of Grace
“Cast me not away from Your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me,” Psalm 51:11.
David realised that without the Anointing there could be no true relationship with Him at all!
All that would be available outside of the Anointing would be a distant religious experience.
How he therefore treasured the Gift of The Holy Spirit and the Living Relationship he shared with God!
Today it should be no different for those who truly know and experience such a Living fellowship with Him.
Our Treasure should be the same, our prayer should be carried on the winds of eternity to join the echo of David’s prayer — Thank You for the Gift of Your Holy Spirit.… for my treasure is to know You!
The Gift of Grace is not dished out to the whole world, being a ‘cheap treat’ from God to be distributed to whoever needs candy for comfort (although this is how it is been handled and presented by multitudes who aim at handling the things of God outside of the reality of His Presence).
The Gift of Grace is that God has revealed Himself in many, from among millions of others who are deaf, blind and mute to His Presence — who never hear His Voice or experience His reality, nor the embrace of His Love — that is amazing Grace that comes from the Father alone.
It is a free Gift from Him, given at His Will!
It is to this end we are sent to present the Grace of God to those who will come to accept, embrace, love and honour it as the greatest Treasure of their lives, also.
May we too come to realise that without the Ruach, the very Breath of God’s Life — without the very Life of God being Alive and experienced and expressed in us, we have no more than religious tradition in our form of godliness and worship.
This may sit uneasy with religion and with the ways in which it has chosen to indoctrinate the Scriptures and those it has schooled and appointed as leaders — But then, religion outrightly disqualified God when He presented Himself in His Son also!
Let us never commit the sin of the Pharisees in being entitled when it comes to God’s Gift of Grace!
“Take not Your Holy Spirit from me!”
Was the cry from a needy man, born from a contrite heart, and a man who realized that if he should lose what only God alone could provide him with — he would lose everything that ever mattered to be had at all!
