The Seven Mighty Miracles At Calvary
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, this Psalm would not have been possible without the leading of The Holy Spirit through an email I had with a dear friend of mine.
Our email correspondence contained much about a picture of a painting I sent him, which I had painted a month earlier for another friend.
This painting was of a mountain on which the snow and rocks were arranged as such to look like an American flag. In the foreground is a bald eagle flying.
Upon sending the picture of this painting to my friend, he commented that he had only just realized that a jute bag he had bought awhile back, was still in his dwelling.
The jute bag showed the American flag on it, with Seven Red Stripes and the word RESTART above the flag. Below the flag was the number 5. He then explained the significance of this by saying:
“Meaning, our new creation made at the Top on Calvary, takes us to The Mountain of God in Heaven forever, by His Grace (the number 5).”
My friend also had sent me a small audio recording titled: The Miracle of Calvary.
I listened to this short 1 minute audio, and instantly felt The Holy Spirit calling me to raise up my hands and sing in joy!
I wanted to know more of course about this song and the rest of the lyrics and proceeded to do a search of it online, but The Holy Spirit had other plans and redirected me to a website by W.A Criswell
I saw an article titled “The Seven Mighty Miracles of Calvary.” It was a sermon given by Dr. W.A Criswell back in June 15, 1980. I had never heard of this pastor nor of his website.
I started reading, but was distracted. Later I tried to do a search of the song again for lyrics, but again The Holy Spirit led me back to the W. A. Criswell website.
The Holy Spirit was very adamant and persistent in leading me to this site! I continued to read, this time without interruptions, and to say the least, I was divinely inspired.
I knew then The Holy Spirit wanted me to write a Psalm about this.
The first verse came in seconds and everything thereafter followed. I pray this touches your spirit and ministers to your soul.
Don’t forget to check out the website as well as there are other sermons about the mighty miracles in the Bible to explore and meditate on for further revelation.
Praise and Glory to Our Lord Jesus for what He did at the Cross for us. His Love is incomparable and unfailing and unending!
A Psalm to sing and praise to God, out loud.
The Seven Mighty Miracles At Calvary
The Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary
The LORD made history that day
Mighty Miracles that forever changed the world
And brought defeat to the enemy
Oh LORD, when I think of what You did at Calvary I come undone
What you did for all and what you would have done for even one
Tears of joy stream down my face
Knowing what took place
There at Calvary, it came from deep within Your Heart
Men may not believe, but I do
The cover of darkness You brought
By Your Hand from noon to three
When You darkened the sun above
When You covered Your Son’s suffering
All trembled as they watched
A Miracle we can never understand completely
Except to know that it was performed only by You LORD
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary
Oh LORD, when Your Son cried out
The veil between You and man ripped in half
And became no more
By Jesus’ cry we were no longer subject to the old laws
No longer was the barrier between You and man there
All could come freely to You any time they chose
A Miracle that came only because of Jesus
His very own flesh ripped and offered as atonement for our sins
Oh LORD, the earth quaked, trembled and split apart
When Christ shouted His Words of Victory:
“It is finished!”
The law of man became no more
Your Love, Grace and Mercy poured out for us
We were freed and forgiven
A Miracle in which the earth rejoiced in jubilation
Knowing Your Promise of Resurrection was near
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary
Oh LORD, the graves of the Saints
Opened and the Saints themselves awoke and rose
From the dust You gathered them
By Your Resurrection Power
Those Saints, beloved by You LORD,
Appeared unto many that day
Two Miracles of wonderment
Death’s defeat was for eternity as Jesus conquered hell
Oh LORD, Your Son was pierced by spear
Water and blood poured out from His Side
Water to cleanse us
Blood to atone us
Oh remember brothers and sisters what John did say:
“I saw the blood of His Life poured out, but also water.”
A Miracle of Regeneration, oh it comes from You, my LORD God
By Your Son’s Seven Wounds we were made anew
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary
Oh LORD, when Your Son’s crucifixion was made complete
The seventh Mighty Miracle at Calvary was seen
Lord Jesus hung upon the cross, a cross we still see everywhere this day
The enemy’s symbol of death became our symbol of salvation
A breathtaking act of Love only Christ could have done
Upon that rugged cross on that rocky hill
A Miracle that day was delivered:
The promise of the Gospel spreading around the world
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary!
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary!
Oh LORD, the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary
Were done by You alone
Not by the sun or earth
Not by the enemy or man
Not by whim or chance
But by Your Holy, Loving Spirit
By what Your Son did at Calvary
Oh Glory, oh Glory!
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary!
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary!
Oh Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory, Glory
Oh Glory to the Seven Mighty Miracles at Calvary!
“From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. 46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[a] lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me.”)
When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[c] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:45-54.
“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:30.
“But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,” and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”” John 19:33-37.
“But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” Acts 2:24.
“For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel — not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.” 1 Corinthians 1:17.
“I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.” Ephesians 3:7.
“but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,.” 2 Timothy 1:10.
“Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth — to every nation, tribe, language and people.” Revelation 14:6.
