The Roles of The Jews and the Gentiles In The End Times
There are many instances in the Epistles where Paul would use phrases such as ‘first the Jew and then the Gentile’ (i.e. – Romans 2:10), to mean that God has meant the Blood of Jesus to cover the sins for all by faith.
Paul says that without the Law, we would not know we are sinners (Romans 7:7). He said that we would not understand the grace provided by the Blood of Jesus until we understood the Law (Romans 7).
Bible scholars agree that from Adam to Abraham is about 2000 years, from Abraham to Christ 2000 (Abraham to Moses 500 years) and Christ to the Rapture is predicted to be 2000 years plus the Millennium Kingdom of 1000 years will altogether add to 7000 year plan of God for Creation before The Second Resurrection and the devil being thrown into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone.
This does not mean we should observe the Law, or attempt to abide by the Law, as we would definitely fail.
One example would be the Sabbath. According to Sabbatical Laws (Exodus 16:29-30), a Jew or an observer of the Law is prohibited to travel a Saturday — the seventh day of the week, the day of the Sabbath that has been called by God in the Days of Creation in Genesis and in the Ten Commandments, as well as in the five books of the Pentateuch.
However, it is not possible for modern day people to follow this command or law, because we would not only break this one, but we would definitely break even more than that one for sure (at least, I know I would).
Therefore, we don’t want to live in a legalistic way, but we do things with discipline in order to develop an aptitude. Unfortunately, in modern society, we have to follow laws, and man-made laws too, for that matter.
We have to follow the law when we drive, work, go to school, conduct business, perform music and pretty much everything we do.
When we work and want to save money we abide by ‘established economic laws of supply and demand and of accounting and trading’. In fact, we now live in a society that is even more ‘legalistic’ than ancient people do.
In the past, when people travelled internationally, they did not need passports or some elaborate photos and fingerprints. The ancients basically just had to get on a boat or their camels and go.
When people traded, things were simpler, with just an exchange of funds or bartering, as opposed to the compliance economic and financial laws of international, national, state, and local laws merchants need to follow.
Interestingly enough, that as we no longer live by the Ten Commandments of God, we constantly live by thousands of laws everyday, that dictates where we can build homes, how to use the internet, how to work, how to do business and how to live our day to day lives in order to institute, establish and maintain order.
Of course, this is good. Otherwise, we would all have to live like monastic monks.
So what good is the Law? Like the Apostle Paul says the Law, which was established by God Himself is a way for us to understand the extent of our sin as described in Romans 7 and the depth of God’s grace for us and the significance of the Sacrifice of the Lamb unto God for our redemption.
Jesus Himself said that He did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). And it is true.
This is why we don’t have to be legalistic about not observing the Sabbath, or about circumcision or anything else for that matter, but it also means one should not use that abundant freedom and grace to allow sin to reign in their lives.
I don’t listen to certain music because I know the consequences of listening to it (worldly influence, opening myself to the demonic, etc.), but if I do listen to it unintentionally, would I be condemned? I don’t think so. The grace provided by the Blood of Jesus should cover that.
But does that mean that just because the Blood of Jesus is going to cover all my sins and flaws that we should allow sin in our lives any further? No, of course not (Hebrews 10:19).
In fact, it is through the understanding of grace that saints could be set free from their bondage and slavery of sins.
I knew people who were addicted to certain things, and could not get rid of it even when they did everything that other Christians tell them to do in order to get full repentance.
But the moment they acquired the divine understanding of grace, they become like Paul, Thomas and John, who all gave up everything to champion the cause of Christ, because they understood that Jesus has become the water that will cause them to never thirst and has become the fountain of life for them.
And if you observe their lives in the New Testament, they were incredibly more humble because of this experience and intimacy with Jesus because they know that pride comes before a fall.
The role of the Jews from the time of Jesus until today is to exemplify the Law to the Gentiles, and so we the Gentiles may understand the implications of the Law.
The Law is so stringent that a lot of Jews, do not follow the Law. It is even plausible that it is impossible to follow all of the Law, even in Israel (they are still not atoned today).
The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) may have been observed by Israel for 2000 years, but they have never performed the sacrifice needed with burnt offerings, sin offerings and guilt offerings as prescribed by God in Leviticus, for 2000 years!
This means that technically, they have not been atoned through a burnt sacrifice or sin offering (and others prescribed in Leviticus) for 2000 years!
God promises to the Jews that those who bless them will be blessed and those who curse them shall be cursed. And because of what Christ has done in us through grace, we have an even greater standing in the expectation for the Father to do a greater thing with the Jews.
After all, He instituted the building of the Temple. He appointed the Feasts. He made a way for atonement.
These things are pictures and shadow of the things to come. They are pictures of Heaven and the very Throne of God.
Many parts of Revelation are described to be similar to Isaiah, and there are similarities of the Heavenly realms with both the Tabernacle described in Leviticus and the Second Temple in 1 Kings 6 and 2 Chronicles 3, for example the Seraphims and Cherubims.
Ezekiel 1 also describes the Four Living Creatures in a similar way to the way they are described in Revelation 4:6-8.
In fact, in order for one to understand what Revelation is all about one needs to read the Old Testament to began to understand the symbolism of everything such as the Mercy Seat being a picture of God’s Throne with the Seraphims on each side in Heaven.
This is because God does not want us to picture Heaven in all of its perfection with our limited idea of perfection, but to help us picture the awesomeness, resplendent and majestic atmosphere or reality of this realm for that is His Abode.
Therefore as Eschatological Scholars call it, Israel is God’s Timepiece. God still honors His covenant with His chosen people, by blessing them through their observance of the Law and the Abrahamic Covenant.
It is now the time to watch God unfolding prophesy unto Israel as to gauge the times of the End and to heed Jesus’ and Paul’s instruction to keep watch for the return of our LORD.
Let’s not forget also that John the Apostle prophesied in Revelation that the Third Temple will be built and the son of perdition will sit himself in it and profanely declare himself god, or higher than God. In order for us, the saints to know these things we need to know the Old Testament.
If we don’t, we would not know whether it is ready to be built up or if it is not. Those of us who understood to an extent albeit in a limited manner of the way the Temple is built is that all of the components of the building of the Temple are ready.
The Levites of Israel and the Jews are only waiting for the door for the building of the Temple in Jerusalem to be opened.
Last year, is the first time in history that America has made incredible progress through Mr. Trump’s administration, in allowing Jerusalem to be officially recognized as the Israel’s capital by moving the USA embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.
And it happened exactly 70 years since the reinstatement of Israel in 1948!
The progression of events in Israel since 1948 has been indicative of the unfolding of prophecy from the Yom Kippur War in 1973 until today’s Iran’s threats to Israel.
These are indicators that Revelation is unfolding right in front of our very eyes, and that the time of the Gentiles is coming to its fulfillment (Luke 21:24) and the restrainer will soon be taken away (2 Thessalonians 2:6), leading to the greatest event of all after the Cross-Resurrection, that is the Return of our Coming King who will be called the One Who is Faithful and True and who will reign a thousand years in the Millennial Kingdom.
