The Road to Hell: Paved With Good Intentions!
The Road to Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions, but Putting Into Action the Words of Life Will Lead Us Upwards….
“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass,” James 1:23.
Many of us have intentions to do something good that would result in improving a situation or another person’s life.
But if we don’t follow through with it, then our intentions, no matter how good they may seem, are worthless.
It would seem to be a rather strange phrase in saying that “the road to hell is paved with good intentions,” because one would think that anything of a fallen nature, would not have anything presumably good in it.
But that is often the case with the words that we often say.
We also know of the truth about the man who built his house upon the sand and how the rain came and washed his house away because it wasn’t built upon solid ground, (Matthew 7:24-27).
When we hear the word of God and the seed of that word is heard but not acted upon, the very word that would bring hope and victory in our lives quickly washes away and is gone.
True wisdom is found with putting into practice those things that we know will bring about the promises of God.
We’ve heard the old adage, “Words are cheap,” and certainly no matter how eloquent or seemingly well-intentioned those words are, without an action on their part, those words simply fade away into the atmosphere.
Those words and phrases may well be found in the captions of wise men and sages, but of what value are they without actions?
You see the enemy knows scripture and he can quote it, but he also knows the weaknesses that we have because of our hearts and how they can betray us.
And yet as we quote scripture to him he must flee and leave.
We have this assurance and power within the words that we speak.
Yes words are powerful and they can bring blessing or a curse. But give feet to those words that we utter.
Put them into action and act upon the good intentions that would bring about peace and blessing.
Then the road will not lead to hell, but it will lead us upwards and into the heavenlies.
Selah,
