There are many spiritual laws or principles; I am not talking about the Law of Moses but the principles set forth in God’s word by which we exercise our faith in God and access the abundant grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is the law of sowing and reaping enjoyed both in the natural and spiritual realm. One important principle is the Law of the First-Fruits; ‘For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches’ Romans 11:16.

If the firstfruit is holy – here interpreted meaning given or offered to God, the rest is also dedicated and holy. Here holy means, ‘separated unto God’. When we give our firstfruits, we are committing the rest or the whole lot to God, and this activates a continuous flow of the blessing manifestly in our lives. The first is the foundation upon which the rest, which is the structure, is built. Giving our firstfruits to God, lays a strong foundation upon which a great financial structure stands.

In bible interpretation there is the law of first mention, which states that the first time a topic is mentioned in the bible determines the interpretation, relevance and significance that topic should carry throughout the scriptures. So let’s apply it on firstfruits; “And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the first-born of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted?” (Genesis 4:3-7). This first mention of firstfruits in the bible shows us three important points;

1) Firstfruits are always accepted by God.
2) Not every giving is acceptable.
3) Giving firstfruits is doing well.

This year make up your mind to always give first fruits, of your increase, your commissions, bonuses and whatever God gives you. This is your year of supernatural increase; continually activate the law of firstfruits.

GLORIOUS DECLARATION

Make this declaration; I live by the word of God . I honour God with the firstfruits as I activate the law of abundance in my life. Whatever I touch prospers, I abound to every good work by the supernatural power of God. I am healthy, I am wealthy and I am wise. My financial progress is evident to all because I apply biblical financial principles. I am rich because of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!!
