There is a very real and present attack going on right now in the lives of believers. The enemy knows he cannot take away your salvation, so he does attack to take away your faith, [which in turn causes you to move in wicked unbelief!].

In the verses below, we see where and how he does this evil work. He comes in and when sin does happen he causes it to become/ appear very deceitful or even helpful, leading to hardening of one’s heart. After the heart is hardened, the devil has a hay-day in your next actions.

It is a very present danger of gaining a hardened heart which will cause all who are affected to do wickedly by turning away from your only God, the Lord Jesus Christ and against God’s will for your life.

Hardening is reinforced, when it happens, with many things appealing to the flesh, [in the believers life those most relevant things is your faith and trust in God and the bible].

One who is affected will find themselves living suddenly a very selfish life of the flesh. This flesh life of selfishness is emboldened by the enemy when he then makes mention: that they should immediately stop trusting in their God, who he says has somehow failed them.

“Oh, just go ahead,” he says…. “Stop serving God, because He really does not care about you! Look at all that is happening to you. Where is your God now?” And all sorts of such questions.

We know the devil is a liar. He has lied from the beginning. Just today I saw that behind every lie is a truth. The lie turns from the evident truth and makes it appear to be false.

When the enemy can convince any believer that somehow God is not good but really bad… And that truth is not truth [questioning the bible etc], he will cause you to do all sort of wickedness, working through your flesh.

Bible example:

Eve in the garden heard God say: “The day you eat this forbidden fruit, you will surely die!”

Then the evil one said very subtitle to Eve: “Oh surely not, you will not die, but the God you serve is really only keeping you from experiencing things good.”

You see, the enemy wanted Eve to think that bad would not happen, but that God had hidden good things from her. He said in that day to Eve: “You will be like God!” Wow…

This was such a subtle lie and Eve bought it, saying, “I want all God has for me! I want to be like God!”

The fact was hidden from Eve that what God meant was she would suddenly know good and evil [having then become a sinner, knowing sin], which at the time being, she did not know, but was totally innocent [having never sinned against God].

After Eve had hardened her heart through the deception, she did take and eat and even gave some to Adam. In doing so, she did bring judgment upon not only herself, but upon Adam, and they both were evicted out of the garden forever!

They suffered because of the sin and that sin started with the hardening of Eve’s heart after the deceitfulness of sin. Then having gone this far, their hearts were even more hardened! Hardened to take them away from their God!

Then that sin that hardened them did infect all men, for all men sinned in the sin of Adam and Eve! All become sinners. So, the hardened one “Infects others” causing much damage!

It is really a known fact that sin is all around us, but many do not fully realize the reality of a real living devil who wants to destroy all of God’s children. This present evil generation winks at sin and has no restraint. This only encourages all to partake of their sins.

Many young and unknowing believers are swept right on into the sins around them, thinking God sees and understands, Well, what does God see in reality? The wages of sin is death

The devil wants to destroy all who have any faith in God, because he hates God. Many do not fully understand the extent the devil is taking right now to destroy them, just because they believe in God.

So, many play around with sin playing right into the hands of his hate……. The heart then is hardened to the effects of sin, causing them to walk farther and farther away from their God!

One who is hardened, is like and will be as one who stumbles in the daytime [like a drunk man; who searches for the door knob and cannot find it. Like the drunk who is off balance. It is seldom realized or remembered by that drunk, just how bad he was or has now become…..

And oftentimes he never even fully understands just how bad he is or has become. He is as one now walking in a dark place, out of place, and totally hurt and beat up.

Those sins will harden one to the place that sin will take them farther then they ever thought they would go and cost them more than they every thought they would pay…..

The hardened hearts of many believers is: the real reason for so much trouble in the body of Christ! When so many have allowed their hearts to be so hardened through the deceitfulness of sin, the whole lump is hurt and hindered.

This is exactly what the devil wanted to accomplish in the first place………. Stop the Church short of God’s will for them….. To stop the Church’s advancement!

Warning:

Caution must be taken to keep your heart pure.

The fact is I have heard God say to me [and Celeste too] just recently: “Guard your heart!”

I know today what He meant by that… because shortly after that warning we were faced with a real difficult decision(s). One that if we had done what was suggested, would have hardened our hearts toward our God and all God’s revealed will for our lives, and caused much trouble which would have taken many years to undo….

The real danger is present now in so many who have not yet fallen to the hardened heart…. to… allow the deceitfulness of sin and lies of the devil to suck them into the same deception of many already walking around with hardened hearts.

“Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God. But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication].
For we [believers] have become partakers of Christ [sharing in all that the messiah has for us], if only we hold firm our newborn confidence [which originally led us to him] until the end, while it is said, “today [while there is still opportunity] if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart, as when they provoked me [in the rebellion in the desert at Meribah].”
For who were they who heard and yet provoked him [with rebellious acts]? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose dead bodies were scattered in the desert? And to whom did he swear [an oath] that they would not enter his rest, but to those who disobeyed [those who would not listen to his word]?
So we see that they were not able to enter [into his rest — the promised land] because of unbelief and an unwillingness to trust in God,” Hebrews 3:12-19.
