The most important thing in Ministry
It is so often overlooked, neglected, rejected, unsought for, downtrodden, but yet the most important thing!
Ministry today, seems to be about earthly acquisition of materialism: good houses, good cars, flashy suits…..
Do not misconstrue my statement, nor misunderstand me, these things are good, but they are not the most important thing in ministry!
Moses knew the most important thing in ministry and cried out for it till God could not anymore withstand the bargaining power of Moses for that one and only thing he so craved after – The Presence!
“Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
And he said, my presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
And he said unto him, if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight?
Is it not in that thou goest with us?
So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth,” Exodus 33:13.
How can we ever do his ministry without His presence?
Don’t get mad at me now, but I think we should stop going after titles and go after His Presence!
Lord, I want a good house of my own, a good car to make mobility easy, I want a good office to operate from, but I need your presence to be with me always!
This to me, is the most important thing in ministry!
