The Moon will be Turned into BLOOD
THE MOON WILL BE TURNED INTO BLOOD
“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls” Joel 2:28-32.
What a passage! The Apostle Peter already quoted it on the day of Pentecost, with the outpouring of the FORMER RAIN (see Acts 2:17-21). But although he quoted these words from the prophet Joel to explain to the Jews in Jerusalem the wonder of what had just happened to the 120 disciples of the Lord, it was – if we only read this passage – a mere foreshadowing of the double outpouring – the former and the latter rain – falling upon all flesh that is destined to take place during the Feast of Tabernacles.
As far as we know, the moon did not turn red, or into blood, on that Day of Pentecost. Furthermore, Jesus used the Feast of Tabernacles, not Pentecost, to announce rivers of living water – referring to the Holy Spirit – coming upon those who truly thirsted for it. In all likelihood, then, what happened on the Day of Pentecost will be repeated by our gracious Lord in double measure during a celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles. This expectation is, and has always been, the main reason for our celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles, as I wrote when, in 1978, the Lord directed me to keep the Feast (My article, “Why we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles,” is available on request).
Now that – in all likelihood as is expected – the moon will turn into blood precisely during the 2014 Feast of Tabernacles, numerous commentators may have leaped too quickly to the conclusion that this therefore means it will be the actual day of the coming of the Lord. That is why I highlighted the verse in the wonderful and exciting passage above that these things – the wonders in heaven and on earth, and the moon turned into blood, that this is to happen before, I repeat, before, the actual coming of the great and notable day of the Lord.
Just as the Apostle Peter used this very scripture to explain and announce the outpouring of the former rain as it referred to Pentecost, so we may know that this time it refers primarily to the coming of the former and the latter rain promised for the time of the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem.
With all my heart I pray that it may be during this coming Feast, in 2014.
Please consider, then, with all prayer and supplication, whether God wants you to be here at this Feast to experience what Joel already foretold:
“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions” Joel 2:23.
