The Master Weaver
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope,” Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV.
The Master has a plan for each of us in this life we lead. There is a purpose to the design that is laid-out if we would but follow it.
But there are times in our lives when we stumble and even take a different road other than the one that He originally had planned for us.
He is very much like a Master Weaver in how the various threads have been tied together to form the most exquisite and beautiful design.
Throughout eternity it was ordained that each of us would have our own tapestry or divine weaving as it were. And His hands have been intricately weaving this design over the years in each of our lives.
When one begins a weaving of some kind, there is of a particular kind of yarn that must be used.
Through the careful pulling of the thread back and forth through the movement of the warp and waft, a design is begun and finally is brought to completion.
It takes great skill and patience, and one slowly learns the art through much practice.
There is a divine image that the Master has in His mind as the process has begun. But oftentimes as the storms and hardships of this life come, that design sometimes has been changed.
Our weaknesses and failings begin to show various pitfalls or discoloration in the design.
But the careful hands of the Master sees these things, and because of His unfailing love towards us, He slowly moves the threads back and begins the original design once more.
And what comes forth in these times is perhaps even a more beautiful rendition than what might have been. Because as He sees our hearts and knows our humanity, and because of the blood that now covers us, the hues of the threads now become almost translucent in character.
Another scene is forming in the warp and waft. Now the distant hills that once had a misty appearance, are taking on a golden color.
Where before one couldn’t quite make out the details, now a bubbling brook is seen, and the fragrance of lilies can be sensed.
You see, even as He is the Master Weaver, He still must allow us to walk out the tapestry in our daily lives.
We are not puppets whose strings are attached to His every move. He has given us freedom to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.
Don’t be afraid of the imperfections in your life. Take a peak around the corner and watch as the Master is forming the tapestry of your life.
Watch as the threads are creating a thing of beauty and purpose.
