The Lord says: Be NOT Afraid!
Though angry winds howl and swirl in the dead of night, be not afraid.Though they rage and churn with all of their might, be not afraid.Though dreams puzzle and befuddle transporting to lands foreign, be not afraid.Though the season comes with a time to mourn, be not afraid.Though the enemy comes like a thief to kill, steal and destroy, be not afraid.Though he rages like a caged lion to steal our joy, be not afraid. It is I who inhabit the winds causing them to churn and swirl. It is I who cause old men to dream dreams bestowing knowledge like precious pearls. The seasons and go in the palm of My hand, I give a time to reap and a time to sow. When the Harvester returns to claim His bounty is only for Me to know. Even the enemy bows down I AM the Giver of joy |
Let’s face it, we’re living in troubled times. The stock market is filled with fears of the bottom dropping out. The economy seems to hang in a precarious balance. Famines rise up in lands to cause thirst and starvation throughout. The very earth seems to be enraged as earthquakes, tornadoes and tsunamis rise up to destroy homes and take lives. The population of the world continues to grow even as the lands remaining to harvest are diminishing. For many this may be a time to throw up our arms in dismay. It may be a time to lie awake in the night as fear grips us.
Yet the Creator, Author, True Owner and the Great I AM, has a message:
Be NOT afraid!
“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows,” Matthew 10:24-31.
In the passage above, Jesus offers some healthy perspective. See, there is but one true Master and He is the Lord our God. It is He who was sending the disciples out into the world. He knew the dangers they were willingly walking into. He knew that they would face great peril and even be martyred for being messengers of the Word and yet He left them with cause to be not afraid. We are all under our Father’s care and nothing, and I mean NOTHING happens without His consent.
The secret to overcoming fear is trust. When we trust our Heavenly Father with our hearts and lives we know there is nothing to fear. We know that His spoken word remains even after the heavens and the earth pass away. We know that He alone holds the world in the palm of His hand. To be afraid is to present a foothold for the enemy. Though our bodies will perish, our spirits live on in Christ Jesus as we move on to our true home. On this day He wishes to remind you, “Do not be afraid!”
Now, for those who do not have a personal relationship with the Father through Christ Jesus, there is still time. You can make that decision at this very moment. No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, no matter what you have done, He sent His only Son to die for you because He LOVES you!
