The Lord asks: Why do you seek ME?
I heard The Lord saying, “Why do ye seek me?”
I heard God saying, what is your reason for seeking him?
Seeking The Lord means seeking his presence. “Presence” is a common translation of the Hebrew word “face,” פָּנִים pânı̂ym, literally, we are to seek his “face.” But this is the Hebraic way of having access to God. To be before his face is to be in his presence. But there is a sense in which God’s presence is not with us always.
For this reason, the bible repeatedly calls us to “seek The Lord . . . Seek his presence continually.” Why? Because many times god intentionally hides himself in order for both me and you to seek him! The scriptures says, blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). So, you see if you desire God you will do whatever it takes to find him in this season and you will allow nothing (or no one) to separate you from the love of God!
I hear God saying that many in this season do not seek him for the right reasons!
Jesus answered them and said, verily, verily, i say unto you, ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the son of man shall give unto you: for him hath god the father sealed (John 6:26-27). What is God saying? Well, many seek God for money, fame, glory, power, titles, and positions. But I hear God saying that all these things are going to perish! (meat); unless your motives are pure you will be laboring in vain!
You see some of you are like Simon, who saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, saying, give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. What a shame after all the money you have given in the church and you still have no power!
Some have a desire to be some great prophet who tells everyone there fortune and steals the praise from God! Others are like Simon, you will give your whole pay-check and you still will not be able to receive what God has for you; unless, you repent!
I hear God saying that you are just a body filling up the pews and on your way to a devil’s hell, saith The Lord!
Repent for your wickedness, and evilness of heart! Many people in this season are trying to purchase the things of God with their money, from these evil and wicked leaders, but I hear God saying that you are wasting your time and your money, because all these things come from God!
Oh, you might buy yourself a title and a position, saith The Lord, but the power and status you seek comes from God and God alone! I hear God saying that religion and legalism are both a crime and a curse before God! You must be born again!
Where does this spirit originally come from? Your god: Satan! You see over 2,000 years ago a fallen angel called Satan was deceived and he has been deceiving others every since! You see, the scriptures say, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called god, and that sitteth in the temple of god, shewing himself that he is god” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4).
This is why many who have fallen are saying that they are seeking the true God because, they are of their father the devil, and they seek the lust thereof; not the true and living God who is the God of all!
The devil has deceived many in this season and their eyes have been put out and their paths darkened, saith The Lord! Just as Absalom who planned to take over his father’s kingdom and he would also say, “I wish someone would make [appoint] me judge in this land! Then people with problems [any suit/complaint/case or cause] could come to me, and I could help them get [would give them] justice” knowing full well that he had no intentions of helping anyone, but his on greedy self!
Just like many of you who are wolves dressed in sheep clothing, who only care about one person: your own selves! But, I hear God saying, what is your reason for seeking him in this season? Is it for the bread/meat/ the fame/glory/money/power?
I hear God saying that many will have to learn, just as Peter and Judas did in this season. You see, Peter had some things in his heart such as: he was lukewarm and followed Christ a far off (not sincere) even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. Like many of you who have not been filled with the Holy Ghost (your fire is not hot), you are around the church, but not in it and until you get filled you will remain around the fire, but not apart of the true church and a puppet on the string being used by the enemy; as he sees fit to pull the strings! (Mark 14:54).
Unlike Peter, Judas did not follow a far off; he followed Christ for the money bag and he did not care about the title, the fame, or the glory: nor being his disciple! He was just plain greedy! For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor (John 13:29).
But no matter what your reason for following The Lord, it must be sincere and true! Peter learned this lesson all to well when he denied the lord; after the cock crowed three times as Jesus had said it would! Peter wept! Why? Because he realized his relationship with the Lord was not sincere and he really didn’t love The Lord like he thought he did!
Many of you will need to be like Peter in this season your eyes will have to be opened and you will need to have a personal encounter with The Lord, before you can realize why you are following him! (Mark 14:68-72).
Why do you seek The Lord? Is it about the fame, the power, the glory, the money?
It is time to come clean with The Lord! God knows any way there is nothing we can hide from him! The eyes of The Lord are in every place, beholding the good and the evil in this season! Many of you are going to church; but your heart is not in it!
You sing in the church every Sunday, you pay tithes and offering and you are still not happy! You have not grown one inch in church and you have been around the fire for 5, 10, 15 or maybe more years than this and you still don’t have a personal relationship with God!
Isn’t it time to do like the keeper of the prison who awakened and said to Paul and Silas, “What must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:25-30)

Exodus 33:11-23 (AMP)
11 And the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Moses returned to the camp, but his minister Joshua son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the [temporary prayer] tent.
12 Moses said to the Lord, See, You say to me, Bring up this people, but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You said, I know you by name and you have also found favor in My sight.
13 Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You [progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with You, perceiving and recognizing and understanding more strongly and clearly] and that I may find favor in Your sight. And [Lord, do] consider that this nation is Your people.
14 And the Lord said, My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.
15 And Moses said to the Lord, If Your Presence does not go with me, do not carry us up from here!
16 For by what shall it be known that I and Your people have found favor in Your sight? Is it not in Your going with us so that we are distinguished, I and Your people, from all the other people upon the face of the earth?
17 And the Lord said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have asked, for you have found favor, loving-kindness, and mercy in My sight and I know you personally and by name.
18 And Moses said, I beseech You, show me Your glory.
19 And God said, I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim My name, The Lord, before you; for I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy and loving-kindness on whom I will show mercy and loving-kindness.
20 But, He said, You can not see My face, for no man shall see Me and live.
21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place beside Me, and you shall stand upon the rock,
22 And while My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.
23 Then I will take away My hand and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.
John 6:28 (NKJV)
28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
