The LORD And His Mountains
A Psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud
The LORD And His Mountains
Take me to Your Mountains LORD
Take me to Your Blessed Abode
Majestically stretching beyond the sky
Built on Holy Foundations for all time
Higher than the drifting clouds
You sit upon Your Holy Throne in Zion
As You look down on the earth,
Your Footstool and Creation
Oh You raised up the mountains from the earth
You gave them garments according to the seasons
Pleasing to the eye; inspiring to the soul
The mountains belong to the wild goats;
The crags are a refuge for the hyrax
You have equipped them for the rocky terrain
Your snow-capped peaks are home to Your Eagles
Who glide upon Your Winds
Oh my soul blesses You LORD!
Oh my soul loves You LORD!
How majestic are Your Mountains —
Great or small, wrapped in Your Light
How blessed are Your Mountains —
Robed in majesty and armed in strength
My whole being overflows with Peace
That comes from Your Mountains
Oh my soul blesses You LORD!
From Your Mountains, waters flow
Over and down into valleys
Going to the place You assigned for them
You water the mountains from Your Upper Chambers
And from it — the land is satisfied
The grass grows; food is harvested
All good things come
From the waters that flow from Your Mountains
Your Mountains smell of pine and sunlight
Your Birds exalt You with gracious melodies
Your Hidden Lakes and Streams are paradises;
Where crickets chirp and frogs croak
And deer lay down in the evenings
Where gentle sunrises filter through the trees
And the warmth of the sun lingers until twilight
Giving way to Your Magnificent Starry Garment!
Oh my soul blesses You LORD!
Oh my soul loves You LORD!
How majestic are Your Mountains —
Great or small, wrapped in Your Light
How blessed are Your Mountains —
Robed in majesty and armed with strength
My whole being overflows with Peace
That comes from Your Mountains
Oh my soul blesses You LORD!
For You LORD show Your Might and Power through Your Mountains
Upon Your Command they quake and explode;
They melt and smoke
You stood and measured the earth;
You looked and shook the nations;
Then the eternal mountains were scattered;
The everlasting hills sank low.
Yours are the Everlasting Ways.
In Your Hands are the heights of the mountains —
Where Your Son went to pray
Where Your Son taught
Where Your Son was transfigured
Where Your Son died for us
Where Your Son ascended into Heaven
And Your Mountains are where His Feet will touch once again
To rule and reign over the earth forevermore!
Oh my soul blesses You LORD!
Oh my soul loves You LORD!
How majestic are Your Mountains —
Great or small, wrapped in Your Light
How blessed are Your Mountains —
Robed in majesty and armed in strength
My whole being overflows with Peace
That comes from Your Mountains
Oh my soul blesses You LORD!
In the latter days LORD,
Your Mountain shall be established
As the highest of the mountains,
And shall be lifted up above the hills
And all the nations shall flow into it
And as the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So The LORD surrounds His People,
From this time forth and forevermore!
Oh The LORD and His Mountains
How magnificent is He Who Dwells
On the most Holy of Hills
Oh how my soul blesses and loves You, LORD!
“He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them. You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth,” Psalm 104:5:9.
“He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work. He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate— bringing forth food from the earth,” Psalm 104:13-14.
“The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the hyrax,” Psalm 104:18.
“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so The LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore,” Psalm 125:2.
“In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him,” Psalm 95:4.
“The mountains melt like wax before The LORD, before The LORD of all the earth,” Psalm 97:4.
“The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; The LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed the world is established, firm and secure,” Psalm 93:1.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”” Isaiah 52:7.
“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands,” Isaiah 55:12.
“It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of The LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it,” Isaiah 2:2.
“The mountains quake before him; the hills melt; the earth heaves before him, the world and all who dwell in it,” Nahum 1:5.

“Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives,” Luke 21:37.
“Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them,” Matthew 5:1-2.
“After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light,” Matthew 17:1-2.
“As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. They came to a place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”),” Matthew 27:32-33.
“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted,” Matthew 28:16-17.
“After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven,” Acts 1:9-11.
“On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then The LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. It will be a unique day—a day known only to The LORD — with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light.
On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter. The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name,” Zechariah 14:4-9.
