The Life of an Artist
HKP Prescript: Stephen Hanson is both an anointed Prophet and Artist.
The life of an artist runs parallel with that of a prophet.
Both can be very lonely at times, as solitude is a must for one to live it out right. Truth can be found in paint and in splatters. It is seen on the distant hills and the forests beyond.
One is often tucked away in a corner, so that they can find a place to create. Very few actually have a studio where they can do their work, and many times, their space may be limited to a kitchen table or a few square feet somewhere.
Hours will be spent depicting the light that touches the tops of cottonwoods, or falls and caresses the leaves and petals of flowers.
An old T-shirt has now become the painter’s rag, as it quickly becomes spotted with smudges of red, yellow, and brown.
Brushes and hands are carefully washed, where deep green and alizarin crimson have now stained everything around them.
And then the following day one returns to the work that they had begun. Now the masses of shapes begin to emerge, and bushes and rivers, and rocks and trees are seen. The palette is dirty with hundreds of different hues and areas of paint on it. But one finds the right spot to mix just the right color again.
Layer upon layer of colors are added, as branches and roads and rocks come forth. Hours and hours are spent adding this tone, and that one.
And finally what once was all white now comes alive. But is it finished; is it all done, you may ask? But leave it alone, and let it rest for a while. For the following day will tell the truth, and will not lie.
Show it and post it, for all to see. The hope is to sell it, but likes and good thoughts are helpful, but they don’t pay the bills.
One must be driven and persistent you know. It’s not a job for sissies or everyone.
Let the farmer farm, and the teacher teach. All have their place in this world of ours.
But let the dreamers dream, and show their work to the world. Without their voice, this place would lose all its meaning and thought.
Selah,
~ Stephen Hanson
Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
