The Impact of God’s Presence (2)
Intimacy with God, releases revelation. Revelation brings about revolution and solution – and it all begins with the transforming presence of God!
The impact of God’s presence is clearly shown in John 21:1-11 which gives the account of when Peter and the disciples went back to fishing. They laboured all night but yet, they caught nothing. Then Jesus appeared to his disciples, He told them to cast the net on the right side of the boat and they would get fish. And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish (John 21:6). It was the same spot where they had struggled the whole night and could not get fish. Yet, at the word of Jesus Christ when they cast their net, there was such a big multitude of fish that they struggled to draw the catch in!
God says that the word which comes from His presence shall not return to Him until it fulfills everything that He has assigned for us. The word of God does not fail! Man will promise and they will not fulfill. Governments will promise and not fulfill, but not the word of God.
I was in my country of Uganda in the year 2000, when the Lord told me go to the nation of Kenya to raise up a 24/7 altar in the heart of the city. I didn’t have money or the right connections. In obedience, I applied for my I passport and when it was ready, I didn’t have 20USD to pay for it. So I began the journey which was supposed to have taken me only 45 minutes by plane, and only 12 hours by bus. But since I had no money, it took me 6 months to get to the city of Nairobi, from Kampala.
I asked the Lord, (in those days before they formed the East African community) how could I go to another country without a passport? But the Lord said to just GO. At the immigration, as people were being checked and passports stamped, I noticed a policeman looking and smiling at me. He waved at me, and I fearfully waved back, and that was how I entered Kenya – without a passport!
The word of God does not fail! From there, I moved from city to city and after six months, I found myself in the city of Nairobi. I had no place to stay, so I decided to stay on the Prayer Mountain. There is no proper accommodation there. You sleep on the stone floor. There is no blanket – nothing! But I carried on, because I was clinging onto the Word that God gave me, to setup a 24/7 altar in the city of Nairobi.
In June 2005, while I was on a forty-day fast, the Lord told me to pray for Asia every day. Then He told me to pray specifically for China. On the 20th day I received a call from China. Some people wanted me there to teach them to pray. So I went to the Chinese embassy to get a visa and they told me to bring my financial statement. I said I had none, so I was advised to go to Hong Kong instead, and from there go on to China.
Before leaving my country, I asked the Lord, which church I should visit while in Hong Kong. My contact in China sent me forty websites of churches, so I began to pray. Finally, the Lord led me to the ugliest website, only one page, and everything in Chinese. Only the name of the church was in English.
When I arrived in Hong Kong, I was arrested because I didn’t have enough money. I had only about five hundred dollars. The immigration officers took me to the deportation room and left me there for some time. Finally, the officers came back, and with a very bad attitude they told me, “Mr. Suubi, you don’t know where you are going and you don’t have enough money! It is up to you, go and suffer in Hong Kong! Go!” The word of God doesn’t fail!
It was night when I left the airport and I was so excited to see all the brilliant lights and tall buildings. For the first time, I boarded a double-decker bus and along the way, at one of the stops, I raised my eyes and I saw the name of the church that the Lord had given to me when I was still in Kenya. I will never forget that moment as long as I live! The next morning, it was Sunday and I went to the church. The moment I entered, to my great surprise, they welcomed me warmly and even took me on a tour of the church.
I later found out that they had been expecting a black American pastor to visit and I was mistaken to be that man. It also happened that on that Sunday, the pastor of the church was away preaching elsewhere. Assuming that I was the black American pastor, I was given the opportunity to preach from the pulpit. While I was preaching, the pastor returned. After the service, I told the pastor about my prayer ministry and how we help churches to build prayer towers. The pastor was surprised! You see, God had given him a vision to begin a 24/7 prayer tower in Hong Kong but he didn’t know how to do it. He had gone to Indonesia and other places for help but things just didn’t work out. So we began to run prayer schools in that church for twenty-one days.
We also had a nonstop revival session, and eventually the 24/7 tower was established in Hong Kong The word of God does not fail! Hallelujah!
When Jesus told the disciples to cast their nets, it was because of His presence and the word that He had spoken that made it possible for them to catch so many fish. What can take you ten years of faithful labour, God can give it to you within one day because the presence of God gives you speed.
My family. and I have always been renting a house, but last year in May, the Lord moved the heart of a family to give us a four-bedroom house. Now, the way the Lord blessed us with this house was just by seeking Him and having Him touch somebody to give the house to us. On the day we moved to the house, I went to preach in a rural area in Kenya. I was as preaching when a lady ran up to me and gave me her car keys. She had just bought the car and she told me that the Lord had told her to give it to me. In one day, I got a house and a car, debt free! When the presence of God shows up, what would take you years to achieve, you can get it in a day.
When you spend time in God’s presence, God not only gives you the word, He also gives you revelation. Intimacy with God releases revelation. Revelation brings revolution. Revolution brings solution.
Many years ago, the Lord gave me a revelation when I was in Kenya. I asked the Lord how I was going to do ministry in Kenya, when I did not know the people there or have the resources. The Lord said, “My son, if you ask people to give you money, they are going to give you crumbs. But if you spend time with me, I am going to command them to give you sacrificially.”
That has been a revelation I have walked in. Until today, I have never asked anyone money for food or settling my bills. I spend time in the presence of God, and when I come out of His presence, God has stirred up people to minister to me.
When you spend time in the presence of God, you can never be stuck. The presence of God never fails!
