The Gifts May Work, Even If You’re Backslidden!
This note may set off a hailstorm of opposition. There’s nothing I can do about that.
If you truly wish to be used of God in a prophetic sense, you will often be asked to say and do things you would rather not.
No matter how spiritual you may become, you are still human and none of us likes to be ridiculed or shot down.
Without experience, most would never understand why the prophets at times wanted to run away, rather than proclaim what they had been instructed to declare!
One might ask, just what is the purpose of this writing? Perhaps from a personal standpoint, it is in hopes of sparing someone a whole pack of trouble.
It comes to mind that even the rich man who died and went to hell had a burden for his brothers, and sincerely wished that they would be warned and spared the plight into which he was cast.
Whatever else the Spirit wishes to relate is up to the Spirit, and those who receive it.
I am often amazed at how shallow those of us who have called ourselves ‘apostolic’ have been at times.
We who have likely studied the Word more than any other ordinary folk, have often little comprehension to the ways of the Spirit.
Our depth in the spirit world is too often limited to the things we have heard from a few others, rather than what has been enacted in our lives.
It simply proves that no person can know the Word of God unless the Spirit opens their understanding. Those who master in Theology, often know little of the deep moving of the Holy Spirit.
It is also clear that although many can quote scriptures and have heard untold numbers of sermons and teachings, truly do not believe many of the things their church has taught.
We are hesitant to admit that often times, we pick and choose the things we like about God and His Ways and discard the rest, maybe not openly, but in our hearts.
The idea that prophets are called from their mother’s wombs and have always been called regardless of the life they have led up until God calls them forth, is a precept we reject or simply ignore.
It doesn’t change it. We have been confounded for years as to the calling of Apostle Paul, who worked against the Church, although he had always been called.
God does not take back the Gifts of the Spirit.
What you get you keep for a lifetime. All of us have pondered how someone could be used of God, while living in sin. It completely blows our degree of understanding.
I wish there was some way to stamp on the minds of our people that God stated clearly that He does not think like we think; His Ways are not like our ways!
This is in no way written to encourage anyone to think they can live in sin and be used of God.
It would likely be more to warn you of the hell and torment you will experience, should you have the idea to do so!
To the crux of the matter……
A living nightmare is not expressive enough to describe what someone goes through who has lost their way after being endowed with Gifts from on High.
We are aware that even David would not lift his hand against Saul, because he was anointed by God, no matter what awful things Saul had done, even when an evil spirit had been sent to torment him.
Saul was still God’s anointed, whether we like it or not. David obviously knew scripture and knew there was a fine line he must not cross.
The torment which the elder king went through is a clear description of what anyone incurs should they lose favor with God once the anointing of the Spirit has been placed on their lives.
You will see things you don’t want to see and know things you would rather not. Any argument to God, is futile.
You might even wish these gifts no longer resided within you, and even ask Him to take them back. It won’t work. There will be no peace, anywhere.
It does not matter what anyone else thinks. When you’re called, you’re called and it will never change.
We know so little about God. I heard it said one time that God has a real sense of humor. He will actually fool you about some things when you get on a high horse and think you have it all figured out.
He seems to like confounding those who think they are wise. It is my belief that the older you get, and the more you learn, the more you realize just how little you know about the world and particularly, about God’s ways!
God can use you to minister to people even when you are sick and broken down. People are often used by the Spirit when they are at their weakest.
It seems that God likes all the Glory for himself and hates sharing it with another.
Your life will not be your own, no matter what. What is in you will come out often at the most inopportune times.
You will see things in your family and those around you that you dearly wish you did not know.
I have traveled some of this globe and I can assure you that fleeing to the other side of the world will not let you escape your calling.
I think I will add right here that some people have called themselves. We don’t like looking at that, but Christ himself said so.
If you have called yourself, none of this will apply to you. You can live your life as you please.
I am instructed to shorten this and I will.
If any of you have had thoughts of giving up your ministry, I am here to beg of you to reconsider.
Many discouraging things may have come your way, whether it be burn-out, or being overtaken in a fault.
With burn-out, you must seek out others who can help you find rest and healing.
With being overtaken in a fault, the best thing for you to do is fix it. Do whatever you must to correct your error, make amends wherever possible and take a seat for a while if it must be, but don’t you for one moment think you can just throw your hands up and walk away and be free.
I say this in the Fear of The LORD, but God will send the devil himself if necessary to torment you until you fully understand that you are not playing with something you chose on your own.
Christ said “He” chose you. Again, we’re talking about a true calling of the Spirit.
In the flesh, let me say that many who called themselves, or were called by some other human, should have quit the ministry long ago.
They have done great damage to the Flock and down the road, their fruit bears this out.
Let me add one thing. If you are an anointed singer, a talent that the Spirit has used for His purpose, you are not going to get away with taking a back-seat forever.
This God with the sense of humor, will have you singing in places you’d rather not be, just so others can see the difference between those who are truly anointed, and those who just think they are.
It happens. I can promise you that. Regardless of our understanding, God is very serious about those He has chosen.
In closing, let me say some of our lives are in a sincere mess. We’ve gotten into our own puddle of mis-choices and poor decisions and it seems there is no way things will ever work out.
I can tell you that when you have finally gone full circle in your attempts to abandon what was given to you, you will begin to crave a place to preach or sing.
Like me, God might just let you go without a pulpit or a piano until you are willing to play drumsticks on a rusty pot if necessary, just to be used in some kind of way.
You’ll sing all by yourself when no one else is around.
God may let you wonder in circles as those did in the wilderness until your old habits and ideas die off.
One way or another, you will come to know that the greatest calling anyone can have is just not yours to trifle with.
You cannot take away something you did not give in the first place. Your spiritual passport has not been revoked.

HELLO…this posting is to encourage “Eloise”
I read ur post wanting u to understand God has a plan for ur gifts for your life the calling from Christ is strongly important as well needed. He needs you daughter -believe that. We are under attack daily because we are a platinum threat to the kingdom of darkness (satan himself)..The bible says We are crucify daily. Understand HE (God) loves YOU & has called you. Allow no devil or negative voices tell you otherwise. IT’S TIME TO ARMOR UP!! STAY ENCOURAGED!
Thanks for touching on this subject. I have many questions regarding it. I understand that the gifts of God are irrevocable but now God gave us a will. How do I resist being used of God in my gifting? I know this sounds like a stupid question but I really need understanding. I mean God is not a God who forces himself on people
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Colossians 3:23 KJV
I’m very encouraged
Wow, incredible. Thanks Brother.
