The Gift of Prophecy is to Edify, Not Discourage — 2 Comments

  1. I agree with this, but I’ve also wondered how old testament prophets, Jonah, Jeremiah, etc did tell the people that if they didn’t get rid of their idols and follow God only, they would perish. They attributed the perishing to God’s wrath. So, I’m wondering why these fearful words today are any different? God blesses, but Satan curses. If we obey and follow Jesus, we are blessed but if we agree with perversion, and lawlessness, we will be cursed. I’m not sure the message has changed since Jonah’s time.

  2. Yes so true. Many on these type of sites must take heed. So many idle words. Who can tame the tongue? Only by surrendering to the Holy Spirit and only speaking what He is clearly saying. I had much loss in my life listening to false prophets but God is faithful and causes all things to work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.
