The Fear of The Lord
“The fear of the Lord prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened,” Proverbs 10:27.
When we fear the Lord this means that we understand that His ways are higher than our own. In other words we understand that He is way smarter than we are and knows what is best for our lives. We so many times go off headlong into something that we do not ask His council on. We then get into trouble because we thought we knew best! Wrong! Just sayin….
God, many times will speak as we are about to do something and tell us don’t do that or don’t drink this because for you it is bad. We are all different and He knows what is best for each one of us. Isaiah 30:21 says,“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”
This is the Way, Walk in it!
God is always there to speak through His Holy Spirit to show us the right way to go, but many times we push this voice back because we want to reason it away to do it our own way… It never goes well for us when we do this and in this day and hour we must HAVE EARS TO HEAR! His direction is out of His heart of love and he longs for you to listen so that you can live a long life and fulfill your destiny! HE IS ALWAYS FOR US!
His Love leads us to Safety
I know that I am taking a lesson from Him today, as well as many of you! ONLY OUR PRIDE SAYS , “I HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER!” AND GOD RESISTS THE PROUD BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE!” I always tell those that I am teaching that, His correction is always out of Love.
You can take Him at His word because He is a good Father! A Good Father, will tell his children “Do not go out into the street because you may get ran over!”
Now, the child can choose to learn this by immediately obeying and being safe or He can choose to disobey thinking he is wiser than his father and step into the street and get hit by a car! He will learn his lesson one way or the other but his way will cause him much grief, pain, and maybe even death! His Father still loves him. His problem now isn’t because he is being punished by his father but because of his own choices.
Don’t blame God, He is for you!
We blame God so many times for what are consequences of our own ways! God has given us a choice. We can obey the one who created the universe, who is all wise, or we can think we know it all and end up in a mess. I think that He is calling us all to choose life right now! He is looking for an obedient people and this is why so many are going through things. The good news is that, He is always there with His Fatherly heart of love, calling us back to the highest place. He is for us and not against us!
Our Prayer
Lord we ask forgiveness for thinking we know best! We repent for doing it our own way and we ask you to show us the right way now. We understand that our ways have not worked and that your way is better than ours. Thank you that you died to give us the holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and into your ways! We ask for your mercy on us. Come now and restore the years that the locust has eaten in our lives. We thank you that you are a Good, good Father to us!
He is saying to us…
I HEAR HIM SAYING TO US TODAY, Proverbs 1:23
“Turn at My rebuke. Surely I will pour out My spirit on you. I will make My words known to you.
Yes as soon as you turn and do it My way, I will be there with loving arms around you and a gentle voice to lead you in the best way! Let’s start over today because MY MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING!”
