The Emerging Ekklēsia
We see the word “Ekklēsia” mentioned all throughout the New Testament, beginning in the book of Matthew, through the book of Revelation.
The word Ekklēsia is the Greek word for Church. It is a called out assembly, a body of believers or congregation who gather for fellowship.
It is not an actual building — although churches are also places where the Ekklēsia congregates.
There was one such gathering on the Day of Pentecost that changed the course of history. Believers were assembled together in one accord in the Upper Room.
Suddenly there was a “sound” from heaven, as a rushing mighty wind that filled the whole house.
Tongues of fire were visible upon the 120 believers as they were all filled with The Holy Spirit.
They were so intoxicated in The Spirit and began speaking in other tongues as the onlookers heard them speaking in their own languages.
There were many who repented as they watched in awe what The LORD was doing. There were also some doubters and mockers who said: “”These men are drunk with wine.” Then Peter stood up and began to prophesy saying, “These men are not drunk as you suppose, but this is that which was prophesied by the prophet Joel.””
The LORD said that He will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And “on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath.”
He then said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as The LORD our God will call.”
Acts 2:41 says: “There were those who gladly received and were baptized, and that day 3.000 souls were added to them.”
They continued in one accord both in the temple and going from house to house breaking bread. They then had favor with the people, and The LORD added to the Church daily. That word Church, is Ekklesia.
The LORD says; “I AM raising up My Ekklēsia.
They know their identity and understand the assignment and calling on their lives. They know their anointing and authority that I have given to them.
They will not go out in their own strength, but they will be led by The Holy Spirit.
They will release words of life and not death. They know My Voice and they recognize the sound of the trumpet.
I AM about to release a sound from Heaven once again, as it was in the Upper Room.
My Ekklēsia will come together in one heart and one mind, and I will release Signs, Wonders and Miracles in their midst.
I have placed My Mantle upon many believers, and you will know them by their fruit. When they minister they will carry My Anointing and you will sense My Presence around them.
There won’t be any doubt who My chosen ones are. They will speak My Truth in love and never deny My Name.
Their Words have creative power, and they will decree a thing, and it shall be established.
The Ekklēsia will raise their voice with worship that will reverberate across the land. The miraculous will be evident among My Chosen Ones.
They will not only speak with enticing words, but with demonstration of the Spirit and power.
I AM going to visit them and manifest My Glory in extraordinary ways.
I will speak to many in dreams and through Miracles, Signs and Wonders, and their eyes will be opened in a new way.
There will be gatherings of My Ekklēsia where believers will allow the Holy Spirit to have His way.
They will not limit Me or submit to the man-made religious traditions. There will be those who will carry My Presence in such a powerful way that people will be healed in that anointing in the same way that Peter’s shadow healed the sick.
My Shekinah Glory will fill the place where My Ekklēsia is assembled, and My Train will fill The Temple,” says The LORD.
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of The LORD. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of The LORD shall be saved.” Acts 2:17-21.
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And The LORD added to the church (Ekklesia) daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46.
“My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” 1 Corinthians 2:4-5.
