The Devil Believes, Even Trembles!
It is not enough just to say you believe, because the Bible says even the devil believes.
Not only does he believe, he trembles at the presence of God Almighty!
“19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, o vain man, that faith without works is dead?” James 2:19-20.
That is right! He knows there is a God, and he believes the fact. He would be a total idiot not to believe.
The fact is, in Job it says the devil came before God, and God said to him, “Where have you come from?” The devil answered, “From walking to and fro on the earth.”
He had come to accuse men before God.
No doubt he believes. He knows the power of God, because he was cast out of the Garden and he also was judged by God to crawl upon his belly like a snake. Slimy as he is, he still believes. He knows there is a God.
The only thing the devil does not know is he is going to loose it all. He fully thinks that he will overcome God, and become the supreme ruler in all the earth, and the devil would never ever come to God asking for help.
He believes in himself. He is too proud to submit to God.
So it is not enough to just believe in God. The fact is, there is more required to be saved then just believing in him.
Reading the next verse v.20, it declares there must be true works, and if there is not true works, then that faith [or belief] is not valid.
We all know the devil refuses to do any true works because he has faith in God. He believes yes, but he does refuse to work.
A matter of fact, the devil cannot work the works of God, because he does not believe or have true faith!
Jesus said to the religious Nicodemus that his religion was not enough. Did not Nicodemus believe in God? Of course he did! So why was Nicodemus not saved? He was religious!
The devil is religious. That is right, very religious. The Bible says that the devil did…………
“13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light,” 2 Corinthians 11:13-14.
The devil, even as red as he is,.. slithering on his belly, has disguised himself and gone to Church! He walked through the door in a human body, carrying a Bible!
He was not there to preach the truth, although he knew the truth, but he was there to distort the truth.
He was there to appear as light,, but in reality he was black as night and flames of raging red fire. But he disguised himself, and declared his religion!
Well what is his religion? Anything but truly allowing God to be lord and refusing to work the works of God!
He worked alright, but not for God. He worked against God to exalt himself over God, and to destroy the testimony of God and His power.
Many today think it is enough to just believe and work. But you see in order for one to truly believe, there must be a change.
The person must be born again of a new spirit. Jesus said, if you will then you will work the works of God.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of The Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, how can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, we speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man which is in heaven,” John 3:1-13.
Jesus said to the religious man…
You must [absolutely must or you cannot] be born again and he went so far to say, unless you are you cannot see [understand] the kingdom of God.
In other words, if you are not changed into a spiritual man, and born again with a new life… Then you cannot see [work any work for God], because you do not know how.
The qualifications for working for God is faith, and this is the missing ingredient that the devil does not have. Faith.
You see, he does not believe God will do what he said he will do. Why even in the garden the devil did question the knowledge of God, and challenged God’s Word. The devil has no saving faith.
Without saving faith, a man, any man, devil, demon, or anything else, can have good works.
Works are all bad without faith in Jesus Christ alone. No man can work the works of God without faith! The devil cannot, and neither can you [one reading this message] unless……… You are born again of the spirit.
The devil cannot be saved, because he has no faith that works.

30 They said therefore unto him, what sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work?
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, he gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 And Jesus said unto them, I AM the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36 But I said unto you, that ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37 All that the father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out,” John 6:28-37.
Jesus told the people.. I AM the bread of life… He that comes to me shall never hunger [be saved eternally!].
Fact is Jesus was talking to religious people about why they were not saved… they had come only to eat the food Jesus was giving.. but… they did not come to receive Jesus!
The devil will not come to Jesus to receive life… No, the devil thinks he is life.
Some here think they too can work for God and be saved, simply because they believe….
Let me warn you, you must come for more than bread, [food], you must come for Jesus who is your only food and life into eternal salvation.

Glory to God, I was just talking to God about this exact topic a few days ago. Here is His confirmation to me. PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME.
There is a difference between wanting Jesus as your Saviour and having Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
Yes accepting what Jesus did for us personally on the cross, acknowledging that He was a man in the flesh and God and the Son of God is a huge part of salvation… but also receiving Him as Lord and understanding the exchange that takes place at salvation, His blood purchases us. We no longer are our own. We now belong to Him. We must surrender every part of our self to Him and hold nothing back. Like a slave belongs to its master, we are no longer slaves to sin but slaves to Jesus Christ. But the good news is, He calls us His friend. He is no cruel master but He is master non the less and deserves due honor and respect.
When we receive the blood atonement of Jesus Christ as payment for our sins with true repentance because God has drawn us to Himself (lest any man should boast)
When we receive the spirit of adoption and are born again of Spirit and water and are baptized by Spirit and fire, then we are introduced to the Kingdom of God, when we enter in because we have become like children (totally reliant on God, totally surrendered, totally on fire, totally SOLD OUT FOR GOD…)
