The Dawn is Breaking
The Dawn is Breaking
The dawn is breaking; the darkness must flee
My eyes are opened; I’m beginning to see
Streaks of light on the distant horizon
Waiting with joy for the soon coming Son.
The long night of the soul has finally past.
No longer bound, I’m free at last.
The tests and trials have fortified my resolution
To stand firm in faith, He’s my only solution.
As the Light increases, the earth awakes.
My heart is pure; He’s pardoned my mistakes.
No longer caged by the enemy’s lies
My spirit rejoices; it’s time to fly.
Soaring like an eagle into the sun
Loosed from all hindrances, able to run
Like a deer that is free to leap and to roam
Fearless and confident that Heaven’s my home.
Lo, the sun has broken through the fog
In the land of confusion, I no longer belong.
A sure path is now lit up before me
Leading me upward into true liberty.
The Light of the World has unveiled His face
Come follow Him, now, no steps do retrace.
The Day of His coming will soon be revealed
The fields are ripening, His harvest to yield.
