The Controversy of ‘Cancel Culture’
There is a new trend going around called ‘Cancel Culture’.
It is a popular practice of rejecting, withdrawing support or canceling public figures and companies because they offended someone.
It began with monuments and statues being torn down because they offended people. Now it went a step further and is generally discussed and being performed on social media in the form of group shaming.
We’ve recently seen companies such as ‘The Pillow man’, Dr.Seuss’ children’s books and the ‘Mr.Potato Head’ toy blacklisted.
It’s sad to say that we now see this ‘cancel culture’ leaking into Christian circles. Believers are getting offended by other ministries that they disagree with.
This is wrong and it grieves The Holy Spirit.
Since the beginning of time the enemy has been trying to silence the voice of God and cancel Christian culture but we can’t allow that to happen.
When something is canceled it is annulled, ended, and voided.
When a person or ministry is cancelled they are no longer supported publicly.
The enemy’s plan is to bring division to The Body of Christ, stop The Holy Spirit from moving in our nation and take away the Church’s public power and platform.
I can assure you, it won’t happen if The Body of Christ takes a stand. The Word of God says:
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
When Jesus was here on the earth He performed so many miracles but His disciples were still offended by Him.
In the Book of John 6, Jesus fed five thousand people by supernaturally multiplying five loaves of bread and two small fish.
When His disciples were in a boat, He walked up to them on the water after they had been rowing awhile. As soon as he got into the boat they were “instantly” on the other side of the lake.
They had seen all these miracles, but when He spoke about eating His Flesh and drinking His Blood, the religious crowds became offended and were furious.
Many of Jesus’ own disciples left him saying: “This is a hard teaching, who could understand it”?
But then He turned to his twelve disciples and asked them: “Do you want to leave also?”
Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
There has been a lot of misunderstanding and offence in The Body of Christ. Some of you have walked away from Jesus because you have become offended.
You’ve forgotten all that He’s done for you in the past and how He brought you through every battle.
Don’t allow offense to hinder you from moving into all that you were created to be. The LORD is about to move in the days ahead and He needs people to work through.
The Holy Spirit showed me a scripture in Psalm 89. The LORd was speaking to David and he is speaking the same thing over you.
He has anointed you with His Holy oil. You shall be established in His Hand. His Arm will strengthen you. The enemy will not outwit you, nor the son of wickedness afflict you.
He will beat down your foes before your face, and plague those who hate you. His faithfulness and His mercy will be with you and in His Name your horn shall be exalted. (Psalm 89:20-24)
“It is easier to conquer a strong city than to win back a friend whom you’ve offended. Their walls go up, making it nearly impossible to win them back.” Proverbs 18:19 TPT.
“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we shall go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”” John 6:66-69 NKJ emphasis added.

Thank you for your word today. There is a lot of offense in the body of Christ. Many do not want reconciliation. Sometimes offense is caused unknowingly. We must go on in the Lord no matter what the offended does or says. We can not stop going on in the Lord for if we did it would be playing into the enemies hands. There is no defeat or stopping in the Lord.
This is very inspiring and revealing writing. Thank you for writing.
