The Church Member
Living in such a war torn world where many find themselves bewildered, confused and wounded and most of the times their wounds come from the Church.
I want share an example of this as The LORD brought this back to me so strongly today, to share this word for His Church.
I had met a young boy several years ago who had been on his own for a while. He never knew the love of his mother and even his father, did not do much for him either.
He had a good heart though, in and out of trouble, but when he paid the time for the trouble he had caused and was trying to get on track, he was only to be told by a Church member that he was a poor excuse for a human being because of his tattoos and the mistakes he had made.
I say “Church member”, because some go to Church and think it is alright to go through the motions one day a week. But this is not a one-day-a-week thing. You have to walk in His love and reflect His love at all times.
I share that story to say this.
- This is the hour for the Church to speak out.
- This is the hour for the Church to show forth the love and grace of God!
- This is the hour for the world to hear Christ saying through the Church, “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life!
Jesus did not come to start a religion, but He desired that personal relationship.
He did not just come for the saved and sanctified, but
- He came for that addict in the dark corner of the room,
- He came for that young girl who ran away and found herself in a life of trouble,
- He came for that broken one, and oh yes
- He came for that one trying to get their life together, whether he was tattooed or not.
Jesus even has our names engraved on the palm of His hands.
He came to save us from ourselves!
I felt this so strongly within my spirit, as I see so many in Church shun those who need the love and hope of God in their lives.
Jesus said to those who followed Him: “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
The Apostle Paul says, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.”
Suppose I had a thousand tongues that could speak a thousand languages at the same time.
I could know the Bible from one end to the other; memorize thousands of verses of Scripture. I might know the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Suppose I could stand here today and say to that mountain, “Move into the sea,” and it would move! The Bible says that is absolutely nothing unless my faith is tempered with love.
Though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge … but have not love, I am nothing”, (1 Corinthians 13:1,2)
The signature of God in a Christian’s life is LOVE!
That is a signature we can leave on the lives of countless others bringing that glorious light of Jesus crashing into their lives.
To all those who have suffered wounds from The Church much like the story I shared, know that you are loved by a Saviour and King that died to know you.
You are so much more and created for such a time as this. You have a mighty destiny and purpose that awaits you.
Don’t let what man says define who you are, but what God says!

Bullseye! Awesome. Thank you sister.
We as believers because of religion and false doctrines have a tendency to criticize someone that walks in a church differently then they should appear as the church teaches. Denominations are man made and full of Religious Pharisees called evildoers and counterfeits. HYPOCRITES to be exact, instead of loving that person that went wrong in their life and praying for them fervently, they criticize and misguide them. They forget that God hears and sees all and we all will give an account one day. Jesus taught us to love even the unlovely and the smelly and not to walk away from them, but to treat them with Christ’s love; then the Father that sees and hears all will be pleased.
