The Changing of the Guards is Now!
Leaders you have to know when it’s time to pass the sword to your Joshua and let him fight while you just give instructions! (Exodus 14:8-14).
There are three persons you definitely need as a leader, your Aaron and Hur who stand beside you and hold up your arms so that the people will remain encouraged and strengthen, and your Joshua, who will hear the instructions and strategies given to you by the LORD and go forth and fight the enemies that rises up against the will of God and who you train to be your successor when the time comes!
As a leader, you have to know who will be your strength when the battle gets rough and who will pick up the sword and go to war. There comes a time in leadership when you no longer go out as a warrior but you become a writer instructing the people in warfare.
A good leader will always leave their successor with their written wisdom, knowledge, understanding and strategies of warfare, so that they can always have a book of remembrance to encourage and direct them as they go forth in obedience to God!
I have noticed that present leadership does not plan beyond themselves. They have not sought God as to who they are, to train and teach, to continue to work the vision that God has given.
Too often, they shut all other mouths within the congregation and do not present any other voice for the people to hear, therefore, if something happens to them, the people can’t accept anybody else. Or there is a inner war that breaks out among the leaders that often times destroys the vision.
No leader should establish a work for the LORD and limit it just to them. They should not be intimidated by the person whom God commands them to raise up to take the reins of the ministry after them.
God spoke to Moses concerning Joshua (Numbers 27:18-23) told him to lay his hands on him bring him before the priest and then gave him a charge and presented him with honor to the people so that the people would respect him and obey his word.
He made sure that the people would know Joshua, so that there would already be an established relationship between him and the people.
For some, it’s time to give Joshua the sword, present him to the people, and let him begin his leadership responsibilities.
For some it’s truly time for you to just teach, train, instruct and allow somebody else the responsibility to take the people forth.
You see, Moses brought the people out of bondage gave them the instructions, directions and commands of God, taught the people about God, showed them how to obey, humble themselves and respect God, and got them prepared for the promise land.
Joshua took them into the promise land fought for their inheritance and then made sure that each person got what was promised to them.
This is the season for you to get what you have been promised.
As the changing of the guards occurs in this hour, don’t be shaken! God is allowing this to take place so that we can enjoy what has been promised to us!
Now it won’t be without a fight, but we will have instructions and directions from leaders that have heard and seen God bring us through tough battles before, because they were taught and trained by those in leadership who didn’t just have a relationship, but also a friendship with God!
