The Axe of Prophetic Wisdom
The axe head that is divinely connected to your training, and building preparation!
The axe is symbolic for cutting, severing, building; tearing down, the gospel; preaching; exhorting others; rebuke; repentance! (Matthew 3:10; Proverbs 27:17; Ecclesiastes 10:10).
As I was meditating upon the LORD, I asked God what is the significance of the axe head, besides Elisha performing a miracle. He said that the axe head is a divine act that many of those coming into the prophetic, can learn from in this season!
You see, the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, (we are all working to build and to up lift the Kingdom of God) and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell.
Come on somebody, these prophets were in the process of building them a prophetic place of rest, worship and to eat from! They wanted a place big enough to prostrate themselves without bumping into one another. But, they did not want to take on the project without a skilled and more mature prophet on hand to assist them in the task!
So, they consulted with Elisha. And he answered, Go ye.
Many times, if you are a young prophets or prophetess and are not sure about some task or assignment God has called you to, or that you may be taking on, it is good to have someone in your company from whom you can get counseling, who will be there in case you need them. Remember, iron sharpens iron!
And one said, be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. So he went with them. The sons of the prophets used wisdom in attempting to build, because the first thing they did was to gather up their resources when they came to Jordan and they cut down wood. But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.
The LORD said to me that the reason this wood and the beams were so important, was because it was the glue that would support the work they were doing as prophets! You see, for which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” (Luke 14:28).
My LORD, we want a sure solid foundation!
This beam is symbolic for support, and structure for both the roof and the floor! This is why the enemy came to deter the work causing one of the sons of the Prophets to drop the borrowed axe!
He knew that if he could stop the most important aspects of the work which is to stop the foundation from being built he could stop the sons of the Prophets from building up the foundation and tearing down the things that needed to be cut and severed as the began building!
The enemy will do whatever he can to stop the work and to cause it to cease!
But, the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.
Come on somebody! There was a reason the sons of the Prophets kept prompting the Man of God; Elisha to come with them! You, see God had a more mature Prophet their to teach, instruct and to train them that prophets are called to step out on faith and that they must be trained and skilled to know how to move in the midst of chaos!
Elisha was that man the young prophet did not know and understand what to do when the borrowed axe head fail but Elisha never even hesitated immediately he asked where did it fall and he cut down a stick trusting that God would use what he had a stick to recover the loss!
He never once looked at the natural to wonder how this stick would stop an axe head from sinking, he just trusted that if he did his part God would do the rest!
God is speaking and it is not good for young prophets and prophetess to walk alone, but you need to have some type of covering or someone more mature than yourself that you trust who will be their to support you when you run into situations that you yourself may not know how to deal with!
Therefore said Elisha, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.
Prophets are not to be lone rangers and islands unto themselves. They need others to be accountable to, when things get rough!

As a Missionary, God moved her into the Office of a Prophet, revealing to her the qualities of a True prophet, humility, humiliation, loving others, interceding in prayer, as she keeps her own life clean to accurately hear from God. Since hearing the audible voice of God calling her to ministry, she’s been called to intercede and pray for others in ministry as God speaks, instructs, directs and gives prophetic words for her to give to others. God promised He would bring her to sit and to learn before great men, all of which He did!
