The Attack of the Worm — Part 2
See also Part 1
As we saw in part 1 of the Attack of the Worm, the way in which the enemy operates is through pride leading unto bitterness because of exalting self.
In this same attack you see Leviathan and Behemoth operating, which God has had me write notes on regarding pride and self-righteousness.
The attack of the worm results due to pride and self-righteousness leading unto bitterness. However, if we are not careful we can give over to this attack lending our tongue to it, which is why we have to walk in a circumcised life (A Heart Transplant at Gilgal).
To further get into the attack of the worm we see that pride and self-righteousness are present first and there is exalting of self. Next we will see that there is inconsiderate words blurted or uttered that are death.
We see death depicted out of rebellion; where there is no obedience there is rebellion. God’s people murmured and complained against Moses and in their murmuring they were exalting themselves above God, His Word.
God gave them something to eat in the wilderness even in the midst of their complaining and called it manna. This manna was to be gathered daily except the day before the Sabbath so God’s people would rest on the Sabbath and keep it Holy.
Here we see when the people rebelled against God and gathered to much that worms resulted.
“Moses said, Let none of it be left until morning. But they did not listen to Moses; some of them left of it until morning, and it bred worms, became foul, and stank; and Moses was angry with them. They gathered it every morning, each as much as he needed, for when the sun became hot it melted,” Exodus 16:19-21.
The Hebrew word for worm here in Exodus 16 is tôwlâ and means a maggot (as voracious). (Hebrew word #8438) This word for worm comes from yâla’ (Hebrew Word #3216) to blurt or utter inconsiderately – devour. (blurt means to “say something suddenly without careful consideration).
Inconsiderately means “thoughtlessly causing hurt or inconvenience to others.” Synonyms to hurt are pain, injury, wounds, offend, ache and harm.
Therefore, let us look at the revelation given by the Hebrew word worm indicating that it is something which blurts out, offends God, causing hurt and injury.
Therefore, the revelation Holy Spirit showed me is that rebellion breeds behavior that leads to speaking death, as evidenced in blurting or uttering inconsiderate words that devour others, injure and hurt them.
The attack of the worm is to injure or harm through inconsiderate blurting, speaking death. You do not have to be in someone’s presence to do this; you can be alone talking about them with another or in a group leading to gossip and jealousy talks.
Therefore, the attack of the worm exalts self and tears down others similar to Leviathan. Here though we will see greater revelation as to this attack and the parasite that is trying to worm into God’s Church and devour the Bride.
To receive further understanding of the worm as laid out in scripture let us look at some more passages.
“You shall carry much seed out into the field and shall gather little in, for the locust shall consume it. [Fulfilled in Haggai 1:6.] You shall plant vineyards and dress them but shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm shall eat them. You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory but you shall not anoint yourselves with the oil, for your olive trees shall drop their fruit,” Deuteronomy 28:38-40.
When we give into the attack of death, speaking against others and especially against the anointing we then see that our own harvest is devoured and the worm eats them.
Remember we live by the fruit of our mouth. If we are speaking death and devouring words then our own harvest will be devoured because we live by the fruit of our mouth.
Rebellion causes us to walk in an aborted harvest. I remember when God had me write the Glory to Glory Sisterhood series the first book He had me address judging others.
In judging others God showed me that the attacks I had experienced in my own life had many times come as a result of judging others.
Therefore, many times if I experienced what seem to be an attack of the enemy I began to ask God if I had judged someone which led to the attack.
I would say personally during that time I was writing that many attacks of was experiencing was a result of judging others.
Therefore, the attack of the worm gives us over to judging others not in the love of Christ Jesus but rather in an ungodly manner which leads us to exalting self in our own self-righteousness over others.
The ultimate goal of the attack of the worm is to devour. The enemy roams around like a roaring lion to seek whom he may devour.
“Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour,” 1 Peter 5:8.
The devouring results because of bitterness that breeds nothing but poison and death. We can see this bitterness in scripture as depicted like the poisonous root of wormwood.
“I have become a derision to all my people, and [the subject of] their singsong all the day. He has filled me with bitterness; He has made me drink to excess and until drunken with wormwood [bitterness]. He has also broken my teeth with gravel (stones); He has covered me with ashes,” Lamentations 3:14-16.
“And you saw their [a]abominations and their idols which were among them — wood and stone and silver and gold); so that there may not be among you man or woman or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from The LORDour God, to go and serve the gods of these nations, and that there may not be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood; and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’ — as though the drunkard could be included with the sober,” Deuteronomy 29:17-19.
“But have walked stubbornly after their own hearts and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them, Therefore thus says The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood and give them bitter and poisonous water to drink. I will scatter them also among nations that neither they nor their fathers have known, and I will send the sword among them and after them until I have consumed them,” Jeremiah 9:14-16.
Bitterness is the result of walking in rebellion to the truth. It is this place in which if we continue to give over to the lie of the enemy (the worm) we will in time be given over to the delusions of our own heart and from this place we will try to teach and preach, as well as prophesy if we are in the five fold ministry.
Jesus warned of the false teachers and false prophets in the last days and these are the ones who are like a roaring lion, a wolf, that simply devour God’s Church and prophe-lie not prophesy.
They give false prophesies because the false prophecies exalt self and before long they are a celebrity that men and women applaud.
God has had me in year 2 of God’s Fire Wall School of the Prophets teaching on the five-fold ministers, the gifts that Jesus left to the Church and the first one He had me teach on December 1, 2012 was the Apostle.
The Apostle had two indicating factors, first they were separated as Holy unto The LORD and second they walked in the Power with signs following.
However, one thing clearly demonstrated to the first Apostles is that they were the most despised, beat up, put on public display as being led to death. Therefore, they were not men that were applauded but rather Paul himself was constantly being put on trial by the religious sect and defending the truth of God’s Word to them as his defense. True men and women of God walk in humility.
“I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies; they encourage and strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that none returns from his wickedness. They have all of them become to Me like Sodom, and her inhabitants like Gomorrah. Therefore thus says The LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with [the bitterness of] wormwood and make them drink the [poisonous] water of gall, for from the [false] prophets of Jerusalem profaneness and ungodliness have gone forth into all the land. Thus says The LORD of hosts: Do not listen to the words of the [false] prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility) and fill you with vain hopes; they speak a vision of their own minds and not from the mouth of The LORD,” Jeremiah 23:14-16.
Vain hopes and visions result when someone is given over to the attack of the worm as seen in Jeremiah 23:15 of the prophets that are being fed wormwood and drinking water of gall.
The heart is deceptive above all if we are not careful we can be deluded by our own heart! Again we have to live a consecrated lifestyle to guard our hearts against the deception of the enemy.
Job begins to experience what his own self-righteousness begin to do in his own heart. In the midst of the fiery trial and testing he lifted his heart up against God and was clothed with worms, like the enemy who was cast out of heaven, the mantle of self-righteousness and worms (that of depravity and devouring) began to eat at Job’s soul too.
Instead of walking in the goodness of God and His truth, Job began to speak against God and put God on trial because of that bitterness that was in his own soul.
“When I lie down I say, When shall I arise and the night be gone? And I am full of tossing to and fro till the dawning of the day. My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken and has become loathsome, and it closes up and breaks out afresh. My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope,” Job 7:4-6.
“But if I look to Sheol (the unseen state) as my abode, if I spread my couch in the darkness, If I say to the grave and corruption, You are my father, and to the worm [that feeds on decay], You are my mother and my sister [because I will soon be closest to you], Where then is my hope? And if I have hope, who will see [its fulfillment]?” Job 17:13-15.
Death becomes our father and the worm our mother when we are given fully over to this attack of the enemy and as a result we are used as an instrument of the enemy against God and begin to worm our way into that which is of God only to speak against it and exalt our self.
That is what Satan did as Lucifer prior to his fall, and that is likewise what he tries to operate in us to do against God.
The only means by which the enemy can do this is when we are given over to bitterness that is a wound and not allow God to heal it.
Rather, instead we medicate the wound through continued drinking of waters of gall and eating wormwood, by spreading more death and bitterness, causing contention and every evil work.
“For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices,” James 3:16.
