The Attack of the Worm — Part 1
At the beginning of November of this year, The LORD kept telling me that Satan (whose name is not worthy to capitalized) was a worm, and to understand the enemy’s tactic as a worm.
Everywhere I turned, God was confirming Himself, so I began to study the worm as it is depicted in scripture.
As I began to study, I realized the enemy uses others (all of us given over to speak death) for the furthering of his demonic plans and purposes as the worm.
There is life and death in the tongue.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof,” Proverbs 18:21 KJV.
Therefore, what we are speaking we are eating. If we are speaking death then we will be eating it as well.
Scripture tells us that we are to bridle our tongue and speak that which is pure and holy.
When I went to eat with my parents on Thanksgiving day, something sparked a discussion and before I knew it I was already getting into that which God had shown me as to how we are to speak to one another.
When we are given over to pride, because of contention and jealousy it causes us to speak ill about another in ways that are ungodly. In those particular instances Holy Spirit showed me that we are given over to the attack of the enemy.
Moreover, Holy Spirit showed me ways in which others had spoke ill of me and our ministry and that God had cut off the ability for them to receive the anointing of His Word through our ministry, because of their ill means and words spoken towards us, using the strategy of the worm that results due to pride leading into bitterness and resentment.
(Also read the Leviathan note series – 6 notes all together beginning at this link that show you how Leviathan operates in one given over to pride and they began to tear others down).
As a result of others who are given over to pride, a root of bitterness can come in and cause them to begin to curse the anointing in a ministry, or a person.
We will look at this in greater measure. This revelation as God was giving it to me truly convicted me to make sure I was walking in love and not pride given over to bitterness.
God began to show me ways in which to guard my heart and my speech, so that I do not speak in my flesh or be given over to allowing the enemy to lift me up causing me to walk in pride, but that I maintain a humility in The LORD, so that I do not allow the enemy’s strategy of the worm to be carried out at me.
This is why we continually have to return to Gilgal. In James 1 and 3 we see the Word of God reveal how the life and death in the tongue can bring destruction and that God’s people are to speak life, the truth. David, bold in God’s anointing came against the attack of the enemy in humility but his brother looked at him as though he was being proud.
It was not David who was walking in pride, but rather the brother who viewed him that way. People see what they want to see and if they are walking in pride, they will be quick to see the person in the anointing as proud, when in truth it is the other way around.
We look out of the lenses of our heart. The other night as Holy Spirit had me teaching on faith He brought to my remembrance how scripture says that we are to pull the log out of our own eye before pulling the splinter out of another.
Then He revealed to me, “Robin, people are looking through their own log at others, not realizing it is their log.”
That was a revelation and I understood deeply even more how we see what we want to see if we are in pride. We are to ask for the Father’ heart when we look others so that we do not see out of a proud or bitter heart that is in contempt with the truth.
“19 Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. 20 For man’s anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires]. 21 So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. 23 For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror; 24 For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. 25 But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience). 26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious (piously observant of the external duties of his faith) and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person’s religious service is worthless (futile, barren). 27 External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world,” James 1:19-27.
Here the Word of God refers to those who do not bridle their own tongue as deluding his own heart.
Moreover, as we will see later the strategy of Satan is to cause us in pride to be so exalted in our own self-righteousness that we began to come against the anointing of God as a result of the delusions of our own heart.
Furthermore, we will see in scripture that false prophets arose as a result of a bitter and proud heart that led to delusions and vain imaginations as in Jeremiah 23; they were men given over to the pride of their own heart which resulted in them prophesying vain imaginations of man that did not turn people to The LORD God.
God prepares the vessel for the call as He allows us to go through fiery trials and tribulations for the testing of our faith and as the Word itself is being tested.
False humility is our biggest enemy; it will cause us to think we are humble when we are anything but. Instead false humility allows us to walk in the pride of our own heart that in time, if not dealt with will cause us to give into the attack of the enemy, the worm and give into speaking death and before we know it we will begin to eat the fruit of it.
James 3 warns of the accountability and standard one who is a teacher of God’s Word will give because we can offend in speech without realizing. This can be distinguished from speaking the truth of God in love, where we are to confront the work of the enemy that is operating in the life of someone.
As a minister of the Gospel, I can tell you I have done that plenty and even as of recent right before someone did pass away recently, God had me warn the person that if they did not turn from their sin and wicked ways that the judgment would be death and damnation but God desired for them to repent.
Two months after I warned them they died at a young age and were found dead. God told me if I did not warn the woman that her blood would have been on my hands.
God requires me to speak in love to those bound up in sin that are willfully sinning so that they would turn from their ways in order that He would heal them.
If I do not speak when He tells me He has already informed me that He would require their blood on my hands. Therefore, this is distinguished from the truth itself being offensive to the lie.
The offending scripture refers to here is where it causes others to be wounded and injured not with spiritual conviction but rather tearing down and resulting in harm.
“Not many [of you] should become teachers (self-constituted censors and reprovers of others), my brethren, for you know that we [teachers] will be judged by a higher standard and with greater severity [than other people; thus we assume the greater accountability and the more condemnation]. 2 For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature. 3 If we set bits in the horses’ mouths to make them obey us, we can turn their whole bodies about. 4 Likewise, look at the ships: though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the helmsman determines. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and it can boast of great things. See how much wood or how great a forest a tiny spark can set ablaze! 6 And the tongue is a fire. [The tongue is a] world of wickedness set among our members, contaminating and depraving the whole body and setting on fire the wheel of birth (the cycle of man’s nature), being itself ignited by hell (Gehenna). 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea animal, can be tamed and has been tamed by human genius (nature). 8 But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless The LORD and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God’s likeness! 10 Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so. 11 Does a fountain send forth [simultaneously] from the same opening fresh water and bitter? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine figs? Neither can a salt spring furnish fresh water. 13 Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth. 15 This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). 16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices. 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). 18 And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God’s will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts],” James 3:1-18.
God’s truth and His Word brings His ways so that others know Him. The attack of the enemy resulting from the worm is to be lifted up in pride and tear people down from the position of bitterness and pride, not in love.
God began to show me how the way in which we interact with each other as well as talk about each other can be given over to the attack of Satan through the worm if our heart is lifted up in pride.
How does this look like? If someone is offended at another person in the anointing (truth of God) they can be given over to the bait of Satan to keep them in offense and cause a root of bitterness and from that root of bitterness the person begins to speak ill about another and therefore is speaking death and not life.
Rather, they are given over to the attack of the enemy in their bitterness and as well as tearing down another their root of bitterness is growing and they are being enslaved more in that root which leads eventually to death.
“3 For the lips of a loose woman drip honey as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil; 4 But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged and devouring sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold of Sheol (Hades, the place of the dead),” Proverbs 5:3-5.
Wormwood here in Hebrew is la’ănâh and is supposed to mean curse; wormwood (regarded as poisonous – therefore accursed) hemlock, wormwood. (Hebrew Word # 3939)
Wormwood too can be likened to the attack of the worm, because it all results in bitterness and pride.
We can see this clearly when we look at the fall of Lucifer as depicted in Isaiah 14. The result of continued bitterness and the assignment of death is to lead us to hell a little bit at a time.
Bitterness is unforgiveness that results due to offense. The offense usually comes here because of pride, lifting man up over God’s Word.
Therefore, as in Proverbs when we look at the loose woman, the words from her lips seem like honeycomb, they seem sweet but result in bitterness as compared to wormwood that ends up devouring!
Understand this revelation that the worm and wormwood is compared to devouring and when we look at another place in which worm is referenced after looking at Lucifer’s fall the truth about his strategy regarding the attack of the worm will be revealed and then we get into prophetic revelation and what God’s Holy Spirit is alerting us to in this hour.
The anointing God has given me is that of a watchman to alert His people, and my maiden name, Ward, actually means watchman; they Wards guarded the gates in England. Therefore, this message comes as a watchman’s Word of The LORD for this hour in the Bride of Christ Jesus.
“10 All of them will [tauntingly] say to you, Have you also become weak as we are? Have you become like us? 11 Your pomp and magnificence are brought down to Sheol (the underworld), along with the sound of your harps; the maggots [which prey upon dead bodies] are spread out under you and worms cover you [O Babylonian rulers]. 12 How have you fallen from heaven, O light-bringer and daystar, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened and laid low the nations [O blasphemous, Satanic king of Babylon!] 13 And you said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven; I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the uttermost north. 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol (Hades), to the innermost recesses of the pit (the region of the dead). 16 Those who see you will gaze at you and consider you, saying, Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms?— 17 Who made the world like a wilderness and overthrew its cities, who would not permit his prisoners to return home?” Isaiah 14:10-17.
Worm here in Hebrew is rimmâh in the sense of breeding. A maggot. The root word is râmam to ruse, exalt, get [oneself] up, lift up (self), mount up. (Hebrew word # 7415)
Here we see that Lucifer is lifted up in his pomp and magnificence which in turn bring him down to Sheol.
Before he was cast down he said in his heart that he would be exalted and God’s throne and make himself like God. In verse 14 here in Isaiah we see that worms cover him, almost being likened to a mantle.
Worm means the sense of breeding here, therefore Satan breeds pride (pride breeds pride) it gathers others around it to exalt them. Then the root word means to exalt, a ruse, lifting up self, mounting up, which indicates exalting self.
One thing Holy Spirit taught me through God’s Word is that promotion comes from The LORD and the higher we go in the call of Christ Jesus will cause us to walk in a greater humility knowing that there is nothing good in us but Jesus!
Therefore, we like Paul see ourselves as chief sinner the closer we get to The LORD.
The attack of the enemy coming from the worm first all of worms itself into our hearts and in time causes us to lift up self, exalt self and mount up in a place which we are not positioned that is caused all as a result of bitterness through envy and contention.
Had Elisha not walked in true humility he would not have received the double portion from Elijah. Had Elisha stepped out of his timing and tried to walk into the call when he felt like it, it would have been as a result of pride and envy leading to contention to covet that which he was neither ready nor prepared to walk.
Therefore, the enemy will try to get us out of God’s timing through the attack of the worm by coming against the anointing of God’s truth and Word given through others that are walking in that anointing and truth to be jealous and envious of them and thinking more highly of ourselves than we should that will result in us walking in bitterness and speaking death.
Moreover, as we see competition around in the Body of Christ Jesus, if we do not humble ourselves and allow God to work on our hearts, so that we stay in a place of circumcision, we can mount up in jealousy and contention and speak ill about others and come against them.
I cannot even begin to express how much already God has taken me through in being humbled for years before stepping out in the call.
Had I stepped out to early my heart would still have wounds that were unhealed by which the enemy would cause a snare that would lead me to walking in the delusion of my own heart.
Had Ruth not humbled herself and listened to the Word of The LORD she would not have walked into God’s promises.
Had Joshua exalted himself to soon he would not have led Israel into God’s promises! Promotion comes from The LORD not man.
Therefore, if we have contentions and jealousies in our heart promoting ourselves and exalting ourselves then the carnal man needs to be crucified on the cross.
