Temptations and Troubles…
“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished,” 2 Peter 2:9 (KJV).
Will there be temptation to do wrong? YES!
Will there be troubles in your life that seem insurmountable? YES!
Will there come a time in your life when you feel like giving up and quitting? YES!
Could the temptation come to curse the very one that created you and saved you from your sins? Yes!
As believers, we are no different than any one else. The Bible says it rains on the just and unjust. Difficulties in life are inevitable, but it doesn’t have to ruin your relationship with the Lord.
Troubles WILL come in all shapes and sizes and faces, but instead of focusing on them and dwelling on them in your mind, You need to turn to God. Situations can arise in life completely out of the blue, or so it seems, and someone could blow you out of the water with a comment or accusation that cuts so deep you wonder if you could ever recover.
There is Hope in Jesus. The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations. Temptation to do what? SIN….. to turn away from the Lord and take revenge, dishing back what you were given because of the pain inflicted by another.
Unforgiveness, bitterness, rejection, anger, and even hate lies at the door to bring you into bondage and become entangled in worldly thoughts and actions. Know that your enemy is not that person….. its none other than the devil himself.
If you will take a breath, keep your mouth shut, and call upon the Lord, He will show you what to do, and help you to make the right choice and sin not. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. Anger lies in the bosom of fools, and these sins can form roots in your heart which are difficult to deal with and remove.
“Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile (deceit).
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such are of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all,” Psalm 34:11-19 .
The Lord is there for you, turn to him now, repent for the feelings in your heart or actions you may have already taken… seek His help from the word…… for there is forgiveness for you at the cross……….. and a REFRESHING awaiting you as you choose to believe and receive His love.
“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil,” Psalm 37:7-8.
