Sufficient Unto The Day
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof,” Matthew 6:34.
There are so many things that can consume our thinking each and every day. We plan for tomorrow, and yet we don’t know exactly what tomorrow will bring until it gets here.
There are enough troubles each and every day to consider without thinking about the next day or the next week. We are told by Jesus that we should consider the lilies of the field how they neither toil nor spin. And that the birds of the air neither sow nor reap, or gather into barns, and yet our heavenly father takes care of them. Then how much more does He consider us than the birds of the air?
Each day has enough troubles or things to consider, rather than worrying about tomorrow. Even though we may make the best plans, and investments, we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. It’s like a mist that is there waiting to be unveiled. We don’t see it yet, and yet we know that it must come as surely as the sun rises each and every day.
And yet a wise man plans for the future, and takes heed to the trouble that may come. He may lay aside something for his children for their future, which is wisdom. But again, sufficient is the trouble for each day. God is already there in the future laying out the plans that he has for each of us, and a wise man considers the path that is in front of him. But even so, he or she does not know all the things that will happen on the next day or the next week.
It can be so easy for us to worry about what may happen tomorrow or the next day, but if our lives are laid in the hands of our Father, then we can trust that each day has enough for us to consider, without dwelling on what “may” happen later on.
Our imaginations while being a gift from God can sometimes cause us more harm than good. For imagining what “may” happen, oftentimes never actually occurs. These things are born out of fear rather than upon faith. For we want to “see” what is before us, and yet oftentimes, it is a mist that won’t be unveiled until that day arrives.
But as we know, faith is the assurance of things “hoped for,” the conviction of things “not seen.” So, in not seeing, then we can lay that day before him, knowing that it will come to pass as it should, with enough troubles and blessings in it for us.
Selah,

Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
