Strategies of the Enemy Against the Saints
Every established and bright body of individuals have strategies to achieve their goals.
Students going to college would use strategies to get into their desired schools — getting the right recommendations, the right high school courses and the right scholarship applications or financing options.
Often, strategies are used in finances, businesses, non-profit organizations and other institutions. In fact, it is most often wise to employ strategies rather than leaving things to chance.
God has blessed us with brains and intelligence, and the Bible also says in James 1:5, that if anyone of us lacks wisdom, that we can trust God and ask Him to give it to us, as He is generous and the Bible promises us that we will be given wisdom simply because we asked.
Therefore it is wise for us to seek wisdom and knowledge, and other blessings of the mind, as it will benefit everything else, with the goal being that our heart and Spirit will grow as well.
Unfortunately, the enemy and the fallen angels are also intelligent. They too use strategies to get at the saints, and they implement layers upon layers on the fabric of society — civilized(developed) or primitive —order to breed hate that reproduce hate continuously, allowing sin and suffering to continue progressing, and hindering the work of the Holy Spirit in the world, leaving many in a place of destitute, sickness and darkness.
The enemy knows that we are very much in a desperate need for God.
All of our bodily functions rely on the laws of biology, chemistry and physics, and therefore on the grace of God.
We are not in full control of any of these things, except by the Hand of God. And we can trust Him, of course.
The enemy knows our vulnerabilities, and he employs his network of evil forces to go against us in the following areas:
- Health
Level One – Minor health issues like colds, flu, anxiety, cough
Level Two – Intermediate long term health issues like depression and obesity
Level Three – Diseases and illnesses such as cancer and others
- Provision
Level One – Minor debt and expenses
Level Two – Major debt and unpaid medical/education expenses
Level Three – Jobs and livelihood
- Relationships
Level One – Family
Level Two – Friendships
Level Three – Church
The Mind
Level One – Lies about your past and sins that were already been forgiven and repented
Level Two – Lies about who you are and your destiny
Level Three – Lies about your relationship with God and who you are in God
The Spirit
Level One – False teachings
Level Two – Addictions
Level Three – Severe depression, suicidal thoughts and suicide
Unfortunately for the evil forces of the enemy, they are fully separated from God. They can no longer experience happiness, contentedness, peace, love and the blessings of the soul.
They can only experience hell within themselves for they no longer belong to God. The enemy and the fallen angels have made a conscious decision to rebel against God, even in the sight of God’s Holiness, Glory, Love, Awesomeness and Mercy.
And therefore, they are motivated by hate, more and even more pure hate. They cannot help but breed hatred, suffering and darkness, and they want to inflict us with these things before the appointed time of their final demise, which is the Day the Lord returns.
Some of the strategies they use are:
- They do teamwork and collaborate with each other (Mark 5:9).
Do you ever wonder why the man in Mark 5:9 said that his name is Legion and told Jesus that ‘we are many’?
That’s because they work together to incur much damage in one person. This is why Jesus said that in Mark 3:24 that a kingdom divided cannot stand.
It applies to His teaching about healing and going against the enemy and his forces. And it also applies to the kingdom of the enemy.
- The enemy capitalizes on the weaknesses on saints and leverage them against God so many will be affected and stay in suffering.
Paul was conveying to us how important it is we understand that the enemy’s warfare against the saints is real and can be destructive in Ephesians 6:10-20.
But once a person relies on God’s grace, God’s grace shall be sufficient for them to walk confidently in amidst their trials and struggles to the point that they can relentlessly and resiliently love God and hold Him up as a banner despite their troubles, (2 Corinthians 12:9).
- The enemy ‘rewards’ mankind for doing evil and causing suffering.
Have you ever wondered why some of the wicked and godless are extremely comfortable and well taken cared of (sometimes with much debt)?
Or why some of those who do not know God or even cares about Him seem to do very well?
The provision is given by God, but the hardened of the heart is Satan’s work. If Satan was not lying to Jesus when he brought the Lord on top of the Temple while Jesus was fasting in the desert right at the beginning of His ministry as described in Matthew 4:1-11, then he has the ability to somehow skew God’s provision so the wicked can prosper without the anointing or blessing that God reserves for His own children.
But God is good. He is truly, truly good, because God in His great mercy and love has given us abundance to counter the strategies of the enemy and His forces (And this is the good news that flowed from the Good News of Jesus’ gospel):
- God has established the Church (the Ekklesia – The Body of Christ as a whole).
Jesus promised that the Gates of Hell will not prevail against it to counter the enemy and his network of evil forces with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
- The LORD made provision to allow the development and sustenance of ministries such as healing ministries, ministries for health causes, prophetic ministries and prayer ministries.
Many of these ministries such as Compassion International and Mercy Ships are overturning the kingdom of the enemy to the Kingdom of Jesus.
The enemy intended their suffering for evil, but God’s goodness is healing them in the hope to turn them away from the gates of hell.
In this way, in our weaknesses, He becomes strong for us.
- Our ABBA Father rewards us with abundance, not in the same way that the enemy does, but in a much deeper way that God loves us.
It is wise to consider that sometimes the emphasis on reward without a deep connection or a substantial relationship with God would breed the preaching of the prosperity gospel, and that to focus too much on spiritual gifts and abundance may cause us to focus on the external rather than the internal, and these things may cause us to forget the most significant aspect with our relationship with God, which is to love Him for who He is as He loves us the way we are no matter how far we have gone away from Him.
Depiction of the Shield of Faith
In view of all the provision God has given us at the individual, community and worldwide levels, we need not be afraid of the darkness, but keep walking towards the light.
When we are in a dark room, we do not fumble around and ponder the cause of the darkness. Instead we go to the switch so the light will turn on immediately (or on a short circuit situation, we would get a flashlight of some sort to see).
In the same way, it is good rush to the Light of God — the Word of God — Jesus, before we can do anything with the enemy. And therefore, we should strive to bring the Kingdom of the Light against the kingdom of the dark so through Him we may glorify God, and bring the goodness of God in this world until the Day the Lord returns in His glory and honor, coruscating with the magnificent light and holiness, with His holy ones — the saints taken in Harpazo and glorified behind Him as a holy army.
