Storms may arise in my life….
Storms may arise in my life… but God is going to get me to the other side!
” … that day when evening came, He said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side” Mark 4:35. The Lord wants to encourage you this morning that even though storms come into our lives… He is right there in the storm with us. The Lord wants us to keep our faith and trust in him, even though the winds and waves of life toss us all around. Sometimes its hard to keep a steady ground, sometimes we can’t discern up from down. Our minds may be in a whirlwind, but the Lord says He is right there in the midst of it all. Just when we think that life is going good and we are going to get to the other side of our journey in peace where God is taking us, then all of a sudden, right in the middle of the journey, we will run into a storm. Sometimes, the enemy will suddenly throw turmoil right in the midst of a situation that we thought was going smooth for us. Sometimes in life things will go in the opposite direction and will hit us from all sides and leave us bewildered and confused. The tides seem to rise high and the storms just keep coming and thrashing against our soul. But be of good cheer! The great I AM is your captain! So no longer do you have to be discouraged or dismayed! No longer will you be tossed or swayed because the lord god almighty is the anchor of your soul. He is your safety and will hold you steady during the storm. He is in control of the storm and declares peace to your situation and circumstances! So hold your head up high! The storm is nothing compared to the strong arm of the Lord. So, stop looking at the size of the storm and look at the power of your God! The billows may roll and the breakers may dash but they have to obey the voice of the Lord! And He says to your storm… “Peace, be still!” Storms will come and storm will go, but if God says you are going to the other side… then you are going to get to the other side by the grace of God!
“35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:35 -41 (NIV)
